yes...it's bigger than it looks. ;-)
I purchased this bag for a trip to Europe because I was going to out and about all day long in several places and didn't want to have to carry everything along by hand. I also wanted to use it as my carry-on for the flights and it has worked out nicely so far. What fits inside? Well...I have a 15.4 inch full-size laptop IN a Swissgear laptop bag, (not just a laptop sleeve....a full-size bag), and that fits inside the main compartment easily. In addition to my laptop and its case, there's also room for the Everest shoulder bag, (Everest Luggage Canvas Front Pocket Messenger bag item number CT075-OLI), that I ordered at the same time to carry around the iPad and Kindle Fire HD. I didn't know how much stuff we wanted to lug around during the day, so I thought a smaller bag for the iPad and Kindle would be good on-the-go. With the full-size laptop case, AND iPad, AND Kindle Fire HD inside the main compartment, there's still room on top of all of that stuff for my lined denim jacket to be rolled up.The zippered side pockets easily swallowed up all of the associated chargers, cables, etc. and there's still room for more. The zippered compartment on the front of this backpack has handy pockets inside that have worked well for passports, boarding passes, etc.Durability has been good so far, but I'll have to keep an eye on stitching and such as time goes on and add comments as necessary as wear and tear reveals itself. Everything looks good so far.One thing I would like to see changed is the amount of adjustment on the shoulder straps. I'm 6' tall and 175 pounds, so I'm not a stocky guy. With the straps cinched all of the way down, (i.e. shortened up completely), the backpack rides comfortably and perfectly positioned on my back. However, there's still a little too muck slack in the straps so the top of the bag isn't snug against my back. Not a huge concern, just thought other skinnier users may want to know.I'm including a photo of this backpack,(I'll post it next to the Amazon listing for the backpack), with my Swissgear laptop bag and the smaller Everest bag for the iPad and Kindle on either side to give people a better idea if the size of this product. Not sure why, but the manufacturers of products like this often post photos of the products and list their dimensions...but they don't show the products in use or with other items to give people a sense of scale. Additionally, the dimensions they post are often very generous OR very conservative.Happy customer, and will update this review as necessary. Thanks!

By no means rugged...
My biggest concern after receiving this bag in the mail was the rather questionable stitching on virtually all of the seams. This is a very large bag, which I like, but I have only actually used it to carry my belongings on a VERY few occasions (usually I just use one of my smaller Timbuk2 backpacks). Regardless, around its 4th outing, I noticed the stitching in BOTH side pockets had come loose (rendering both pockets unusable), and also loose stitches on BOTH straps (exposing the cheap Styrofoam sheeting within). This bag looks really cool, and it holds a lot of stuff, but it really is of very, very poor build quality. They have a "lifetime warranty," but you have to pay to ship the bag to Everest, AND include a $10.00 check to cover the return cost, bringing the total to well over half the price of the bag itself (they also won't make any repairs or provide a new bag until they have made an evaluation of the damage and determined that it was a result of "material defects or workmanship quality" and not "typical wear and tear"). First and last bag from Everest.Seriously, don't buy this bag. Just buy a Timbuk2. A strap tore out on one of their bags and they refunded me DOUBLE the purchase price in store credit. Got to pick out a bigger, much more expensive bag on them.

Very roomy and well built
I was looking for a decent weekend bag and this is it. Lots of volume on the inside, enough for 2-3 days of clothes along with large side pockets for all the other junk. Good purchase - recommended
