This is a very useful dictionary and the transliteration of Hebrew words into English is perhaps its main distinction although it has other features such as the Jewish calendar and an insight into the grammar, for example the genitive case. Somebody had warned in a review that how a word to be pronounced in English is not always straightforward but it does have its own system (restricted to this book) which increases your familiarity with the language. Hebrew versions of each word (undotted ) accompany the transliteration in both halves of the book which is certainly a key study aid if you are an English speaker. Last but not least, the print and presentation are clear.

Webster's is a respected name for dictionaries. But be aware that in this dictionary the Hebrew entries are sorted in order of their pronunciation, not their spelling.So if you want to look up a Hebrew word you read somewhere, you are lost if you don't (yet) know the pronunciation. If you are a learner of Hebrew you might just want to look up the pronunciation. For this purpose this book is useless.If you know your Hebrew, and just want to look up the English meaning this book might help you - in theory. But you would most likely prefer a "normal" dictionary, where the Hebrew word are listed in order of their spelling.This book might come in handy if you just heard a Hebrew word in a conversation, on radio etc., and don't know how it is spelt. But only if the speaker pronounces the word clearly and in "standard" pronunciation!There is a reason why there is no English dictionary where the entries are listed in order of their pronunciation (where you would find "know" under "N") - this reason is also valid in this case. It might have seemed like a bright idea - but in practice it is not.

Seems great but I have not yet had the opportunity to use it.
