Well constructed beautiful cage!
I'm really impressed with this cage's build quality and design! Prior to assembly, I washed everything down with a solution of vinegar and warm water (and dried with a towel). The assembly went smooth and is designed (for the most part) for one person to assemble. Includes is an allen wrench to use with the stainless hardware (nice plus) but I did need another person hold the skirt panels while using a wrench (or needle nose pliers) to hold the nut as threaded the hex head screw into it. The directions are simple and I found it necessary to reference the picture of the cage to confirm assembly (easy enough to figure out). Overall it took me 90 minutes to wash, dry, assemble, decorate and introduce my cockatiel to the new cage. There were some very minor (I repeat very minor) wear marks but some touch-up paint is included and I honestly cannot see or remember where the blemishes are. One rail used in the assembly of the play-top had some surface rust and was dirty but after washing the rust was not in the metal and the part looked fine. Everything else arrived spotless - in fact the sponge I used and the water solution was clean not a trace of dirt, grease or any other debris came off of the cage. Which is why I went with a white cage because I think manufacturers need to rinse the product better prior to shipping since white shows dirt easily. The only "con" I can see is the play-top litter pan needs to be secured with a zip tie as it does not have a restraint to keep it sliding out (my fear is the bird jumping into the pan from the play-top bar may cause the pan to slide out and in turn injury the bird (or simply make a loud noise and a mess). Some pluses are: build, stainless steel bowls, stainless steel hardware and the aesthetics (this cage will always look nice in your room). Also the bars are sturdy and allow multiple points to secure branches and toys.Additional note: the bird truly is more playful in this cage than our previous budget cage (made by the same manufacturer)

Great Cage!!! - Just be cautious when choosing the size.
I have to give this cage, Prevue 3151C, 5 out of 5 stars even though I can not use it. It was a breeze to assemble, very sturdy and solid cage and arrived in perfect condition (great job on the packaging). I absolutely love these cages (I have three now). However, I have only had them for a few weeks now. Warning about the size of the 3151 (18X18 Inch) size: I made a mistake in choosing this size for my Sun Conure. I read all the reviews prior to choosing this size and thought it would be ok for her but I was wrong. My Sun Conure is an older bird and is not as active as she use to be, so I did not think she would have a problem downsizing from her much larger cage. I was wrong. Either she is large for a Sun Conure, or other have smaller Suns. By the time I put all her toys and most importantly her bed (Happy Hut), there was barely enough room for her. I rushed when I purchased this cage, because of the great sale price, and for some reason, the next size was over $150 more at the time when the others differed only approx. $50 between sizes. Anyway, I learned I needed to be patient because only a week after I received this cage, 3151C, the next size, 3152C, lowered it's price more than $60. Just my luck. So after a another week, I gave in and ordered the 3152C. Wow, what a difference! So I have to say, in my opinion the 3151C (18X18 inch) cage is much too small for a Sun Conure. I am not sure about a large Cockatiel or other Conure. Now that the sale price has been lowered on the next large size, why not just spend the little difference, I am sure your bird will appreciate it.

A Parakeet's paradise...
The, Prevue Hendryx 3151C Wrought Iron Select Bird Cage, is an aviary for the pair of birds I have. I purchased it in their Chalk White color which blends in well with the surroundings. The birds have been happy, not so with a regular-sized bird cage even though they were out of the smaller one more than they were in (I felt sorry for them not being able to stretch their wings) With the aviary, I let them out once a day but then they return to it after a couple hours of flitting about. There is a little playground on top of this cage with a food and water dish and a single ladder leading up to them. The birds instinctively climb that ladder to the desired spot. Then they fly into the cage below where I have also placed a nesting box and though the box has yet to be used, it is there for them. That box would have never fit in the smaller cage. There is also a covered food and water dish inside (purchased separately). The aviary comes with two more bowls for food inside, but they are uncovered. Whereas I was cleaning the small cage twice weekly and always had papers underneath their favorite perching area, i would also have to vacuum the area two times a week. Now with the new one that was so simple to snap together, the cleaning only has to be done twice a month (probably not that often) and there are slide out drawers to do so. The cleaning is effortless and sanitary. I am saving on bird cage liner, which I never used before because it would have been too costly so instead used my kid's watercolor paper.I am so glad I purchased this Cockatiel aviary (I would consider it too small for the much larger Cockatiel) for my parakeets. It fit together nicely without any tools, save for a screwdriver, and I had it put together in less than an hour (I am disabled and have no dexterity). It cleans effortlessly and looks wonderful! I am extremely satisfied and I wish that I purchased a long time ago...

Good For the Price
While very good quality, I was able to follow the setup instructions until I got to the metal skirt that goes around the cage....had to get help from my engineer husband! He said the fit isn't correct and did get it on. He said to expect to have to bend the edges to get the two holes lined up enough to attach the screws. Also, he said to just join the 3 sides before placing over the cage and then he had to slightly bend the 4 tabs into the slots. Those edges are quite sharp so we found a roll of rubber window insulation good to put on there to protect us and the kids and also from scratching the walls as the cage is moved around.
