They work great
Sharp right out of the box & they stay that way, ive used two many many times & they still drill great, ive made maybe 50 bottle openers from walnut & hard maple and other things as well, the bits just keep on keein on man, clean round holes just like a drill bit is supposed to do, I would definately buy these again but i may not ever have to.

Very good for inexpensive bit set
These cut very well! I have really enjoyed using them. Don't expect something that you can use all day, everyday. These are for occasional use in your workshop.I have only used a couple bits in this set, but they worked quite well, and much better than the set I bought from Home Depot (Ryobi brand). Plus they come in a handy box that keeps them safe. Just be careful when you pull them out, they are sharp and the box holds them tight. It's nice to have so many sizes! 2 1/4 makes quite a large hole... and a lot of wood chips!I have only used these in my drill press. Unlike a typical self-feed bit, a Forstner is not really meant to cut a bunch of holes quickly. For hand drills, a self feeding bit is much more appropriate. If you buy the wrong tool for the job, you will do the job poorly. To drill a 2 1/4 hole with a hand drill you will need slow revolutions, and a lot of stamina... the bit does not pull itself through the wood.Research a Forstner bit before you buy it and don't expect it to do something it was not designed to do.Update: I have been using these quite a lot lately, and they make some great holes. I have used many sizes, and each one has cut very nicely. Also, unlike some reviews that state that the small 1/4" bit doesn't remove chips, I have not found this to be the case. Each bit has done a great job! Take a look at the image I attached to see the quality 3/4" and 1/2" holes I drilled. Highly recommended!Update: After more than a year of light to median use, these bits are still very sharp and do a wonderful job. I am very pleased with this set. TIP: Write the bit size on the wood storage unit under the bit so you can find the size quickly.

Good bit set, needs some minor touching up
I ordered this set for two reasons. One, it was a full spread of 16 bits, and two, it had hex cut shafts for the bigger bits. Anyone who has spun the bigger bits in a drill press can tell you having the hex shafts is worth the extra dollar or two. I got what I expected. For a around $4.50 a bit, these are not high end tools. Like all low to mid range woodworking tools, that price cost comes in the form of lower finish on the tools. Expect to find burs on the cutting edges and grind marks on the interior. It takes less than 2 minutes a bit to set the edge right with a file and then stone it sharp. You're still saving money with these bits unless you get paid a LOT per hour.As you can see, they do fine on oak and other hardwood, especially once sharpened. There is small amounts of tearout with fir and pine. To be expected, pine is soft and I was using a hand drill. All in all I'm happy with this set. All budget tools require some polish to make them what you want, these seem to be decent steel and a fair price.

Quality set, great storage box
I am not sure what is up with Amazon and their choices for reviewing aspects....Accuracy, Value for money, and Sheerness are my options for a FORSTNER BIT SET??Okay, back to the review. Bits are SHARP, and cut through the wood easily and cleanly. My cheap Harbor Freight drill press is good for about 1" but it just can't handle the bigger bits because they want to cut so good.My hand-held 1/2 drill motor powers all the sizes though (DeWalt) I just don't get the same vertical accuracy as a press. The bits come nicely finished and have a coating of protective oil on them and the case is very high quality. Definitely much more than I was expecting.I think this is a long term set (avoiding abuse of course) and will last me the rest of my life.

The price is right and the quality too.
I don't do much woodwork, but when I do, I like to have good tools. These bits are handy, and considering my skills, they are just right. They are not perfect, but they allowed me to finish a couple chairs and a desk so easily I see them as an investment. I was just a minute from purchasing a Ryobi set, with less pieces and cheaper, but this one looked better; more, how can I say it... impressive. It was almost the same price as a Bosch 7-piece set that also came in a wood box, and seemed to me to be almost, but not quite, entirely unlike them. So I got these, and I'm glad I did. They work just right for what I do.

They're fine if you just need a cheap set.
Wow. I hate the case. Let me start with that. Don't count on it to be a nice, useful kind of case. I cut myself every time I try to get bits in and out of it. 2" forstner bits have a lot of jagged corners, and then they put it on a pivoting beam, and with sockets so tight you have to lean on them to get them into the beam. These are not polished, refined cutting heads. They're roughly milled, but get the job done. The case is, as I said, JUNK. If I had it to do over, I would walk right past these, but I've made them work the couple of times I've needed to, and I'll suffer them until can't.Update, June 2022I learned some stuff about how i was using them, and how to use them better. I saw other, more expensive forstner bits. These have continued to work for not too much trouble, so i have them another star.I still hate the case, but that's on me. I should have done something about that by now.

A great tool to help make other tools!
I have a DeWalt 7845 jobsite table saw with an 8.25" blade and max cutting depth of a little more than 2.5". That means my crosscut sleds can't been too thick if I want to be able to cut thick pieces of wood without flipping the board over, which means 1/2" T-track isn't as easy an option.I also do not have a jointer, but I want to have a flat edge at 90 degrees. The forstner bits have been invaluable to resolve both issues!I got the idea to use the forstner bits to drill partway through a board with a known straight edge and then drill the rest of the way through with a normal drill bit so you can use hold-down clamps without a T-track from a Bourbon Moth video. I tried it, and it worked wonderfully. So I used the same approach for my crosscut sled. Check out the photos.I am very happy I got these forstner bits.

BUYER BEWARE!
What may seem to be a very good buy at first turned out to be very disappointing and not worth the time and money spent.I can get over the lack of packaging and the damage to the box inside, even the state that most of the bits arrived not in the correct positions i.e. jumbled up as in picture. The lack of quality and the very poor quality of the "finished product" were not an easy thing to swallow.I will be not buying much if anything through Amazon Again if this is the lack of quality that they have put on their website. It is obvious the the products are not vetted prior to advertising on the site.I should have cut out the middle man and gone directly to the Chinese manufacture of this product and saved more money or at least one of their many websites.
