I recently purchased the Seagate BarraCuda Internal Hard Drive HDD and I must say that I am impressed with its performance. The hard drive is easy to install and offers excellent value for money. Got it to put into a NAS that is on 24/7 to store my media files, the drive arrived with no power on times and no power on hours, so it is a genuine new drive.Packaging might have been lacking but what can you do, it arrived in mint condition. The outer carton box was not dent, and inside using bubble wrap the drive was placed in with an anti-static cover on it, sadly the anti-static cover is NOT a reusable bag which is a shame but at least it was protected.Speeds are also great, having no issues with transfers of 100-s of GBs in size.Easily fit in with a regular SATA power + data cable and works as expected on LZ4.So far had no issues with playback of 4k HDR+ content.

Works great - plugged it in to the caddy and off it went - looses a star on the ease of install because it needed a tweak from the IT manager to set it up talking to the computer - not a problem if you ARE a computer builder! :)

As in the title, the HDD is an absolute tank for storage. 2TB at this price is immense and I have gotten good usage out of it. Just don’t store your OS on it, as it tends to lag behind quite drastically. I’d suggest pairing this with a Samsung SSD and keeping the HDD for file storage. It’s quick enough to play off of, but not quick enough to be used solo.

easy install, tons of storage and great read and writing speeds

I continue to be amazed by just how large HDDs have become: my first in 1992 had a capacity of just 80MB, so this drive is a hundred thousand times larger and yet has exactly the same form factor - it's magic folks isn't it.It remains to be seen just how reliable drives this large will prove to be, but I'm only using it as a streamer resource as part of a 'mirrored' system and so this won't be a big issue for me.Recommended.

Its fast enough for what I need it for

I bought this product and installed into a home NAS server. I only discovered by accident when my NAS software was reporting a failing device that the product was frequently clocking up read/write errors and was in a pre-fail state. Obviously I contacted the retailer immediately but unfortunately as it was 2/3 months from the date of purchase I was given the run around and then ignored. I reasonable believed that this would be covered by the manufacturer's warrantee and that the retailer would be responsible for resolving this as per UK Law. However after initially appearing to want to help me they now have referred me to Seagate International. I personally believe that I was deliberately sold an ex business customer's returned dud drive and that they believed me (us), as a retail consumers, I would not know to check the drives SMART self-checking until it was +30 days from purchase - And they were right! Don't buy this product but if you do please ensure you thoroughly check the drives SMART built in drive diagnostics and run long and short drive self-tests before deploying in any computer whether its a MS windows, MacOS, or Linux and/or NAS server as you won't get more than a strict 30 days of warrantee or support should you need it. Spent the extra £10-30 and buy one from a genuine IT supplier not a fraudster!.

Hace algo de ruido pero nada que un HDD no haga

Exactly as advertised, it was a much needed upgrade for my mother's laptop (old Inspiron 5759) the previous hardrive failed after around a year (Toshiba MK3276GSX 320GB HDD)This hardrive is nice and responsive (no longer takes anywhere from several seconds to even several minutes to do anything including something as simple as opening the Win10 start menu), and I'm hoping will last her until at least the remainder of the laptop's lifespan.

My PS4 died and I thought there was no saving, found this and changed the HDD’s and was able to use my PS4 again, not needing to spend $500 on a new one.
