Very decent high capacity power bank. I highly recommend it.
Now had this for almost three years, it’s a wonderful piece of kit. You can charge it either through its solar array or by micro usb. It has a high capacity battery so I’ve found it can charge a standard iPhone several times or an iPad once or twice depending on how charged it is. Takes about 8 hours to charge to max from nothing via cable, or in the best conditions a few days via solar. All of this of course depends on the plug you’re using to charge it from or how sunny it is. I personally love it, so handy to have something that has the capacity to charge your phone when you’ve forgotten to, or with a few hours in the sun, can at least give your phone a bit of a boost to get it through the day. It also never gets hot when charging for the mains which I think is a good thing. It’s a larger power bank which can fit in a big pocket. As for toughness/ durability, it feels very solid, would help if there was a clip on the back for it to be attached to a rack sac if you’re out on a walk but ultimately it is practical.

Great Solar Power bank but don't rely on solar power alone for charging!
A great product but don't expect it to charge quickly using sunlight alone - I charge it via the mains then open it up while phone / speaker or sat nav in use and it just about maintains its level while providing power. So all in all well worth the money.

Very dangerous after two years...
The media could not be loaded. I've had this about two years and it's worked fine in that time. But..Just got gone to charge it now and its battery has gone bloated and swollen. Unusable, dangerous.. Do not buy.It is kept in a nice cool, dry drawer.

Does recharge in direct sunlight but very very slowly!
I bought this item to take on holiday to Majorca, as I was going with family, and there where loads of phones and tablets etc that we had bought with us, these would all need Charging so the idea of a power bank that could charge it's self with solar was appealing, as there never seems to be enough sockets to plug in to when we are away. The item arrived and seems to be very well made. I changed it from the mains as per the instructions it took a fair time which is only to be expected for a item with such a big battery.I then used it to charge my phone, which was on about 30% this it did in a reasonable time the power bank was showing approx 50% after this, which I thought was a bit poor, although my phone also has a very large capacity battery.I have a number of power banks and they all seem to not have the battery capacity that you would expect I think it's probably down to power loss when they charge another device! As for the solar charging performance it is lacklustre as I said I was on holiday in Majorca at the time so very strong sun, ideal or so you would think. Firstly you can't leave the power bank out in very hot sun as it will over heat which is indicated by all the charging lights flashing! The specs say that the solar panel is rated at 6 watts well I would be surprised if it manages any where near that. I experimented with it and did the same when I got home and have come to the conclusion that it will recharge but it could take weeks or even months to recharge its self from say 30% to full and then only in ideal sunlight.I discharged the bank by approximately 2 amps and it took well over 4 days to return to full again in very sunny weather! It's not really the fault of the power bank it's just physics the solar cells are much to small to do what is claimed. So as far as solar charging is concerned if you where going off grid for any length of time you will need a device with a much bigger solar panel than this power bank has . I think it's fair to say the only thing you could use the panels on this power bank for is keeping it topped up once you have mains charged it as it takes forever to recharge after even small amounts of discharge!

Nice! Works well.
Very happy with this power bank. It's on the heavy side but about what you would expect for the size and capacity. Four solar panels maximise potential and the power bank is simple and easy to use. It also looks reasonably shower proof of you are outdoors and it starts to rain - you'll have a few minutes to rescue the unit before it gets ruined. Looking forward to making good use of this as a solar powered charger.

Solar Power Bank
Capacity just under the allowance for air travel. Can carry in hand luggage.Handy to charge phone, shaver, head torches and you can recharge by solar if no power available.Very handy for rural areas
