Maesri Thai Panang Curry Paste - 4 Oz (Pack of 4)

This is the easiest and best way to make panang! It’s a family favorite now that we’ve found this brand and fine tuned our process after watching many YouTube videos and got the best measurements and additions to the recipe. The paste is the perfect flavor and spice level for everyone! When we aren’t serving company, we like to finely strip jalapeños along with carrots cut in the same matchstick fashion for a bit more heat! Delicious!

My Panang Curry Recipe specifically recommended this brand. Glad I took the time to order it. It was perfect. Just the right amount of heat, so flavorful. I can't do really spicy anymore, so I pay attention to what the chefs giving the recipe say. The 1st time I only used 2 tablespoons, it needed more. The 2nd time I used the whole can, as directed. It was just a little too spicy, but adding more coconut milk and some lime juice made it perfect!!

I absolutely love the taste of this Panang curry paste. The 4 pack is a great value for the money. I struggle to find this anywhere near where I live and keep coming back here to buy it. I tend to use this over the red curry paste due to the quality, smell and taste, due to the fact that my kids can't handle the heat of the red curry paste. This is a fan favorite at my house.

Taste just like Panang Curry in the Thai Restaurant! I am a vegetarian and used this to make the Tofu Panang Curry. It tasted just like in the restaurant. The flavor is delicious, so aromatic and so easy to make.

I bought this paste because I did not want to bother making my own. The paste comes in a sealed Jar. The paste itself is sealed inside a plastic bag. This is to ensure freshness (it does look and taste fresh). I have used it to make green curry which I like. The flavors are not too strong but strong enough to know that you are eating it. I have since used it in sauces, stir fries, anything I would like to give a kick to. Very good product, would buy again and recommend.

I consider myself a connoisseur of Thai food. I've had the real thing in Thailand, and have eaten at many authentic Thai restaurants in Queens when I lived in NYC. That is where I first fell in love with Penang Curry. I order it whenever I see it on a menu. I cook a lot at home, and after doing a bit of research, I found this to be the most recommended and most authentic curry paste. It has a nice kick to it, I like spicy, so the heat level is just right for me. It's a great value for four cans, and occasionally I catch it on sale and stock up. I've seen some others mention that they received dented cans, but I must have been lucky because I've yet to receive any that were damaged. The flavor is great, and has the perfect blend of savory, salty, sweet, and spicy.

Sauté the contents of one of these cans with a couple of tablespoons of oil for a few minutes until the oil separates from the paste. Add a 12oz can of coconut milk and bring to a boil. Add 1 1/2 lbs chicken cut into bite-sized pieces and continue to simmer for five to ten minutes until the chicken is cooked. Serve on rice. The result is a Chicken Panang Curry that rivals most restaurant or takeout/delivery products… and done in about ten minutes. If you want to goose it up a bit, add a couple of tablespoons of sugar early on. Palm sugar is best, but brown or white sugar will do. Add a couple of tablespoons of fish sauce near the end; that’s really nice. Add a couple of tablespoons of lime juice near the end. Add a thinly-sliced red or green bell pepper. Add a handful of Thai chilies if you have them. Add a some kafir lime leaves if you have them or fresh Thai basil leaves if you have those. But these adds just make it better. The contents of this can, a bit of oil, a can of coconut milk, and some chicken (which you can keep frozen) makes a great dinner (three to five servings). And the whole thing is done faster than delivery will take. So, this is a great pantry staple. Of course there are other ways to use this. Use it as a marinated for meat before grilling, for example. Mine arrived in perfect condition, not a scratch… much less a dent. In short, this is a great staple to keep on hand with canned coconut milk and some chicken in your freezer so that you’re always just ten or twelve minutes away from a tasty Thai dinner.

I love this brand of panang curry, it can be hit or miss finding it in stores so I stock up on Amazon. Great medium/hot spicy curry flavor to add to any meat recipe that lets the eater now it’s there without burning the mouth or sinuses. I do tend to let it sit on a paper towel for a bit to get some of the water out before adding it to what I’m cooking but that’s just to prevent splatter on the hot pan, nothing to do with taste. Will buy again.

This Panang curry paste is amazing. It was my first time ordering it, I got the name of it in a recipe and they stated this Panang curry paste is the best available. And it is.

Love this. Makes a great soup or curry. And unusually for an authentic Thai product. It doesn't have shrimp in the recipe. So that's a bonus for me .

Great paste ! Best over the counter pre made for sure but is expensive especially when you add near £13 on for import tax !!!!!!!!!! Cost me & £45 in the end !!!! £11 per small tin !

This is the only one I buy, as it is nice and hot and true to a takeaway taste, rather than any supermarket one I have tried with no flavour and no heat. I recommend, as you can add as much or as little as you like to your taste, depending on the level of heat you want. Lasts well in the fridge and value for money compared with a jar sauce

Wow, this stuff's amazing! This was the brand that was recommended in a Thai Panang Curry recipe I wanted to try, so I ordered the 4-pack of it from here on Amazon, and I will be ordering many, many more down the road for sure! If you're not quite sure what it tastes like yet, it's very much like the red curry paste in the supermarket, as the ingredients are quite close, but the difference is it has some spiciness with the added chili peppers. I'd say it's a medium heat.
