B14105 Blow Molded Empty Carry Case, 14.99 x 10.5 x 5.125, Interior

These blow molded polyethylene cases are terrific. I have several in different sizes to hold photo gear. They come with nothing inside -- no formfitting premolded shapes -- just an open area.I line them with white 1/2" polyethylene foam walls and form compartments by attaching the foam to itself and the case using hot melt glue, which is about the only stuff that sticks to polyethylene.The only downside is that if you stack them on top of each other in transport on a cart, they are so slippery that they simply cannot stay stacked. I solved this problem by purchasing a sheet of 24"x36"x1/8" thick very "grippy" neoprene rubber by Shop Fox on Amazon designed to absorb vibration. I also bought a small roll of 3M VHB (Very High Bond) double sticky tape (1-1/2" wide x 9' long). I stuck the tape to one edge of the neoprene sheet and cut off the rubber following the 1-1/2" tape. This gave me a strip of rubber 24" x 1-1/2" with tape on it. I cut that into 1-1/2" squares and attached four of them to the bottom the each case. Now hey really grip the surface it sits upon and each other if stacked.They do not have shoulder straps or provisions for them -- a single, folding handle only. Lid locks are flexible polyethylene that hold securely. Hinge is a hidden pin of some sort, not a thinned molded part anything that can wear out and fail. Lid folds almost all the way back. Small molded approx 3/16" hole for a padlock.

This case is just like every good power or pneumatic tool case you’ve ever had that you tossed and wish you didn’t. Or that you wish you had more of. Quality is great, price is not- $40-50 for this brand’s good-sized case is the same price as going to your local hardware store and picking any random AC-powered drill or jig saw and getting the same type and dimensioned case for free.
