28 New SAT Math Lessons to Improve Your Score in One Month - Advanced Course: For Students Currently Scoring Above 600 in SAT Math and Want to Score 800

This review is LONG overdue. I bought the advanced course book in mid-Jan of 2017 for my sophomore daughter, who took algebra and geometry in the 7th and 8th grade, respectively. She asked for a review book that would help refresh her knowledge in these topics as she started to self-prep for the upcoming SATs. I searched Amazon, looked through a bunch of math review guides, read all the reviews for 28 New SAT math lessons, and also reached out to Dr Steve, who was very quick to respond about the most appropriate book to purchase for my daughter who is in advanced math. His recommendation to buy the advanced book was spot on. My daughter found the book to be very helpful. She is highly motivated and very disciplines, so she set aside a little time each week to prepare for the SAT. She paced herself with the review book and by early April, she had finished reviewing all of the material in the book. She said she liked having the problem sets at the end of each section to reinforce concepts she had just finished reviewing. She took a mock SAT exam under timed test conditions, and saw her math score improve by 80 points to 780! She was thrilled to have been able to master these topics quickly and thoroughly! Thank you, Dr. Steve. I will be purchasing the beginners course for my younger daughter, who will be a freshmen in HS this fall and per Dr. Steve. She wants to start preparing for the PSAT and sees what a little bit of practice has done for her older sister!!

Overall, very helpful if you want to improve your score. It explains strategies to answer SAT questions -- and it doesn't just offer one so that the test-taker can check their answers and/or use a different strategy -- and then tests the reader with SAT questions. I found it to be a very effective way to learn, although it took longer than one month (as I expected) if you re-do the questions you missed every time. One of my complaints is that, although there was at least one solution for each problem, some of the solutions were a bit obscure. I encountered this especially on the toughest problems -- I believe they were called level 6 -- and never figured them out. Additionally, it is a bit expensive, although in the long-run someone could definitely argue that the price is worth it to qualify for those scholarships. Both of these complaints are not significant enough to bring the score down a star, in my humble opinion.My math score on the SAT significantly increased as a result of this book. Although I enjoy math, I didn't do that well on the PSAT 10's math section: 600/760. On the PSAT, I scored a 680/760. Finally, when I went through this book carefully and completed it, re-doing the questions I had missed as he suggested, I scored a 780/800 on the SAT's math section (the math curve for the SAT is very harsh -- I only missed one question thanks to this book).All in all: if you want a top score, get this book.

This is a Great book of 28 Math Lessons written primarily for students already scoring above 600 but who want to score 800.Extremely well-written and organized according to Level of Difficulty. Must have for those who seek to score High in the Math GREs. I have had great success tutoring students for the Math SATs using Steve Warner's books. Predominantly I teach Advanced Honors and IB students. Many are good students with an above average understanding of Math but who don't quite Get math problems and word problems specifically. Again these books are very well written and Explained with several Solutions offering different Insights into the nature of problem solving techniques. It is not surprising that students will score 200 points better than previous test results. Steve Warner''s books are the Best out there for Success !!!

This book doesn't lie. If you had a 600 on the SAT want to get an 800, this book is the right one for you. My twin and I were getting a 600 and 650 on SAT Math. We bought this book and the "SAT Math Problems Arranged by topic and difficulty", and after working through each of them, my sister was able to get a 730 and I got a 790 - almost a perfect score! We had bought other SAT Math workbooks before, but these ones are truly special. When you're working through them, you actually feel like you're improving.Even if you think you know everything there is to know about SAT Math, and that you only need to practice, buy the lessons book. Trust me, it works wonders! Take these books as an investment for your future. They are worth every penny.

I’ll be frank. I got a 1540. Who cares because I was still waitlisted at all my dream schools. (Try your best not to be almost good enough but not quite like me.) Anyway, my math was a 790. But I never used this book. I quit after 2 pages. If you love workbooks, go ahead. If you’re like me and you order all these books and never do them (me and a lot of people I know) then don’t bother. I did not find this to be a game changer. I got a 790 because I took lots of practice exams, like the free ones online.

I used this book in addition to timed official practice tests that are available online. Many of the high level math problems in this book are harder than anything you are going to encounter on the actual test, and multiple ways to get the correct answer are explained in detail. These level 5 and 6 questions will over prepare you for the test. When it came time for the real deal, it felt easy and I got my 800.

Definitely a good book. I got a 560 on the math on my first SAT. After going through this book, I got a 700 on the math section my second time. It also made me better in my math classes.

This book has what it claims to have: 28 new SAT Math Lessons to improve your score. The way how the author organize the topics and how he pulls the exercises to a bit harder approach - and, of course, the fact that there are different levels of exercises - are exactly why it was really good for me. 5 stars to Steve Warner !

Its a very useful book. All sums/techniques/concepts are well explained. I was scoring 650 in math (in the SAT practice tests) but after using this book, i scored 720 on my first real SAT. Must buy

its good but not worth 2000 for just couple of questions. More work can be done on content and strategies rather than questions.

Brilliant. Meant for those who need instruction and are disinclined to get a tutor. Definitely helps boost your score.
