Vitamix Container, 48 oz., Clear - 56085

Bought this as a replacement for the original tall container and I love it. It's so much easier to clean, fits under the cabinets and is a great all around size. Will probably donate the tall one that came with the Vitamix.

I have the Creation Elite VM0158 Vitamix, and this container works perfectly for it. It had VM0148 on the box. Cost is a bit high, but Vitamix users know how we can't live without it, so it's worth it. I also suggest replacing the driver too, just incase your old container eroded some of the groves on the drive. (now you have a brand new Vitamix again).

This is such a great size for smoothies and smaller batches of soups and drinks. It fits perfectly on the 5200 Vitamix. It was a little pricy, but it works so much better for smoothies than my Ninja since it pulverizes bananas better. The lid setup is exactly like my original container, and I have no issues with the hollow handle. No regrets about this purchase.

As a single person who has a smoothie every day, this is a very useful container. People have bemoaned the hollow handle, but it hasn't affected my use of it at all. People have said the top is too hard to put on and take off, but I don't try to force it, all I do is put it on there tight enough so liquid doesn't come splashing out. This container has been a real game changer for me. I also do a lot of blending, mixing and chopping in my Vitamix, and it has always been a real pain to get everything out from the sides and the bottom, since the standard container was so deep. With this one, it's a lot shorter, so it can fit under my cabinets when it's sitting on the base. I can also now get down inside there with a standard scraper and get almost everything out, something that was almost impossible before. And it is just big enough to make the perfect size smoothie for me. All in all, this was a big win - a little pricey, as everything Vitamix is, but it is well worth the investment.

I've been using this "little guy" for a while now and I can honestly say yeah...I NEEDED it. You never really know just how dull your blade has become until you start the thing up with a brand new blade. Whooosh! So the blade is great. The Jug does look better. I don't mind it sitting out now that I can fit it under things. I thought I wouldn't like the fact that the handle is not Rubber Coated but it blends in better without it and I've gotten used to it. I should note that I use my Vitamix every day and I give it no mercy. Daily smoothies are made with ingredients that are mostly frozen solid. I also put fiber full veggies on the bottom and Ice on the very top. I shove it all in at once too. I want my smoothie and I don't want to hear any fuss about it from this over the top priced machine. And it delivers, daily. I do sometimes get the air pockets, the blade is working but spinning faster than it can blend, so I slow it down. No biggie. Made Sorbet with it on the first go and I followed no recipe. Again great blade. One thing I will warn you about. It will LOOK like you are making less than you really are. Especially if you have moved on from the taller jug. I've easily made 2 sometimes 3 times more than I should because it doesn't look like enough stuff shoved in there. Be mindful of that so you don't waste your goodies.

We started with the original 64oz our 6300 came with and it was fine if you have 3+ people to make for but for just us 2 it was unnecessary. Larger size to handle, a little annoying to clean, and just more cumbersome than necessary. This size is PERFECT - it feels really little but does 2 nice sized smoothies and I think actually is a bit more efficient due to it being a little wider as well as shorter. But function wise they are really identical, same features. As some others mentioned it is not 100% snug when placed around the rubber bottom parts but it is not a problem - it fits, it's not going to fly off, and really does not move around. You can hold on to it if you like for peace of mind but it's not really necessary - it's not going anywhere. FIT: We have 18 inch high cabinets from the counter and this fits PERFECTLY with the top/plastic cover on (but not the tamper) As noted these will fit ALL MODELS except the S series. Measurements (allow a tiny bit of variation but this is pretty accurate :) Counter to top with rubber but without plastic piece: 16 1/2 inches Counter to top with rubber AND plastic piece is: 17 1/4 inches Total height of container from bottom to top including both pieces: 10 1/4 EASY CLEAN UP! Easier to fit in the dishwasher and easier to clean by hand, seems to not have as many crevices for gunk to get into, but regardless just a nicer piece to handle than the larger one. BTW - the rubber part at the top is gray, now that I look at the photo it looks gray to me but before it looked black and as the 64oz one is I assumed it was too. It's a medium/dark gray color, maybe a slight bit ligher than the photo looks. One star off for price - $139 retail is nuts, even though Vitamix has quality products with great warranties, this is just outrageous. If you can grab one under $100 on sale that's more reasonable, but honestly I think $60-$70 might be the right number - I realize you get what you pay for but considering refurb units with a 64oz canister often go for a little over $200, $139 is pretty high. Aside from that - Vitamix once again puts out a great accessory, well made, sturdy, just WORKS, cleans up great, solid warranty and a pleasure to use. I've attached some photos - hope this helps! I paid $99 on 1/14/16, the lowest this has gone down to has been around $78 I believe (just make sure you're buying from Amazon or an authorized dealer or it could void warranty.) Smoothie/milk tip (Our favorites use for the Vitamix) Make almond milk from raw, sprouted almonds adding madagascar vanilla bean, cinnamon, then strain and keep in a foodsaver canister. Then use that for your smoothies - YUM, healthy, lactose free milk/smoothies :)

Great product. Will liquify anything. Even beets. It is a bit loud, but quiet compared to other blenders I've had. Quieter than a juicer, for example.

I bought my Total Nutrition Center Vitamix from Costco many moons ago. I have always found the depth of the container difficult to deal with when removing blended food, e.g hummus, etc. This shorter, smaller version is amazing for hummus and smoothies. The price is high, but the size is much better.
