🔧 Tune In, Power Up! Your signal deserves the best.
The MFJ-962D is a high-performance antenna tuner designed for amateur radio enthusiasts, capable of handling 1500 Watts PEP SSB amplifier input power. Its compact design and advanced features, including an AirCore roller inductor and a lighted SWR/Wattmeter, make it an essential tool for precise tuning across a wide frequency range of 1.8 to 30 MHz, including MARS and WARC bands.

Defective Junk. Poor Factory Quality Control.
For Starters, While Removing the Antenna Tuner Out of the Box It Sounded like a Screw was loose inside the Tuner. Then While Turning the Inductor Knob, it Became Very Stiff & Difficult to turn. Once it Turned, I Heard & Felt a SNAP approximately Halfway Through/Down the Coil. Also, The Number Readout/Display did NOT Keep Accurate Count. It was as if it was SKIPING. Then Finally After Correctly Tuning the Tuner at LOW Wattage power I increased the Input Wattage. Shortly after I increased the Wattage Power to the Antenna Tuner, I increased the power input to 700 Watts, I heard a POP! Shortly after that I Could Smell that Something Burning. SMOKE Started coming out of the Cracks of the Tuner! I Could Also See Flashes of Light Behind the Inductor Coil Counter. MFJ needs to get their Production STUFF (You Know What) Together!:(

actually bought a mfj 949e
built a rife ray machine around this device.works very well, easy to adjust, does everything the company advertises. though it wasn't designed to light up a large plasma tube.it does it very well for years now,w/o fail.

Loose parts
Arrived today and I immediately noticed a rattling sound before I opened the box. I opened the box and the tuner was just wrapped in bubble wrap so I suspect I have been charged a new price for a used item. I picked up the tuner and a screw fell out of the case! Stuff was still rattling around inside so I opened the case and out fell 3 nuts and some metal flakes(see photo)! Good thing I didn't just hook it up and blast 800 watts into it. This is very, very poor workmanship and is the last time I will buy anything from MFJ or Hamcity. I blame Hamcity for not checking out the rattling sound when it was in their warehouse. It should have been pulled from stock and returned to MFJ for investigation. But I guess Hamcity's priority is "get it out the door, make the sale", sloppy, sloppy.I will use it now that I have properly checked it out and vacuumed the interior but MFJ and Hamcity are off my list.

So far I love this tuner. This works so much better than my first tuner.

Poor quality
Roller inductor was very rough and the roller did not follow the wire when turning adjustable knob. I had it repaired locally.Sucks buying something new and it's not working but less hassle than returning.Mfj should mean "mother F***** junk" lol

High quality
This is a high quality tuner. I have not applied over a half kW through it so I can't speak to operation near the full power handling capacity of 1.5kW. This is the third MFJ tuner I own and all of them work well and as expected.

MFJ quality
I had problems with the unit causing an unusually high erratic swr after moving it to a new location. I troubleshooted all the equipment. I opened up the meter and a piece of cut silver wire 1 and 3/4 inches long fell out. Now the meter works ok. Buyer beware, MFJ quality control, thank God I wasn't running any power at the time!
