Saris Traps Bike Fork Mount for Specialty Bicycle Racks

Works great to hold E-bikes in a toy hauler!

I bought three of these, mounted on a Saris single track mount. This is mounted on top of a Backflip truck bed cover. The hardware came in the package with the single track mount, not the fork mount traps. The whole package makes a very affordable bike mount solution that can be mounted to the top of a truck bed cover and still allows the cover to open, only the bikes need to be removed, not the entire bike rack. The bolts supplied with the single track mount were the perfect length for the thickness of the Backflip cover. A cable lock through the fork mount trap is all that's needed for good basic bike security. For added security we just bungy the back wheels together to form a triangle, nothing else is needed.

This product works great. It is functional and flexible. It would be better if the traps came with the required hardware for the mounting to the tracks.

I use Fox 38 Float forks up front and the included pin doesn't come close to making it all the way through.

I was looking for a way to take my bike when we go camping. I took this and mounted it to a scrap piece of 2x4. Now I can stand my bike up in the aisle of our trailer.

I got this one because it says it comes with nut and bolts but nothing came along with this item

UPDATE: 5.4.2012 Replacement fork mount trap works just fine, no issues with screw bolt on this one. Mounting hardware for fork came with the track, not the fork. 3 mounting hardware kits come with track. This was not explained very clear. All Good now. 5 STARS This review is for the fork mount trap. On the website there is no specific mention that the mounting bolts/hardware ships with the mounting fork. There is no specific mention that there is NO mounting bolts/hardware that will ship with the fork. It does mention there is mounting hardware for the "SYSTEM". So first issue, 1)no mounting hardware, to mount the Saris mount fork, to the Saris track. 2) second issue the screw bolt to tighten your bicycle forks to the Saris fork mount trap were cross threaded, defective..... as after 2 turns the nut stopped to turn. Took a wrench with excessive force to tighten it, and again to loosen it. I know the other reviews were all 5's and I feel that this is an isolated incident for the Saris product. Amazon customer service is expediting a replacement fork mount. The entire system is exactly what I was looking for, and that is rare for me to find such a product. Great concept. The Amazon order arrived just as I was leaving for a 3hr trip, and with no mounting hardware had to lie the bike down unsecured for the trip. After an hour at a local hardware store was able to find pieces that would work. If the 2nd mount is defective, there are alternative fork mount choices on Amazon.

I have two Saris fork mounts and 2 wheel holders on the single track set up for two bikes and it fits perfectly in the back of my BMW X5 with cutting the track down to size with a hack saw. It's my favorite way to transport road bikes by far. Keeps them clean and secure by being on the inside.

Very solid well built, I use it for my special project , an adjustable height front fork mount for my Elite direct drive trainer. Very think material that I am able to drill some holes and still very solid

solid and does the job, I attached two of these side by side so I could mount both my girlfriends and my bikes in the back of my Pajero, using a length of solid pine and glued a waterproof material on it. With a drive through some winding and hilly area's both bikes stayed in place, I'd recommend using a foam block or bag at the back of the bikes to stop the frames from touching. Would highly recommend these as great quality. I have attached a photo to show you how I mounted them.
