This was a great catch! Pun intended. We got this delivered and two days later put it to work outside the breakwater. As soon as the unit hit the water we were getting readings as to what was around us. The unit itself is pretty rugged and the cord plenty long enough to submerge in the water while the flotation device ensures it sticks around. We were given the depth and the beeping (a bit annoying) can be controlled which was fine.We actually caught a ton of mackerel that day and found that if we were just sitting around waiting for a school to come by that we would get excited when the alarm went off that the catch was in our vicinity.Good product and relatively inexpensive as far as these units go. Good to keep on the boat in case you ever need it.

I kayak fish and wanted a battery powered depth finder to quickly determine what depth of water I am in. I didn't need a fish finding function but this model has this option.If it would simply provide me the depth when I need it, I would be completely satisified with this item. However, it rarely functions properly. I have determined that the connector from the device to the sensor is VERY touchy. It has to be in just the right position to work,a nd any slight movement of the cable will knock it out of position.With an inability to determine depth, I find this product completely worthless.

Entry level fishfinder. It shows depth and fish movement so at least you know something is there. I like the simplicity of the unit although it must be set up each time it's turned on. I'm trying nicads to see how they last.

You get what you pay for . If you're looking for a $400 fish finder and desire to buy this one, well no surprise you will be disappointed . If you're looking for a cheap depth finder to have some fun for the "not so serious" ice fishing trip. Then this item works for you. I've used it five times , the depth seems to be pretty spot on, I already know where some changes occur and when I tested it it showed what was expected. I would trust it in an area I'm unfamiliar with . As far as showing the fish..: I'm not too sure . I can't say it's not accurate, just because I didn't catch a fish when it said there was fish doesn't mean there actually wasn't any. I can say however that while fishing a well know spot it indicated hundreds of fish passing all day.. I can't imagine there was that many fish below me all day long. Even in a good spot . As well as one time it indicated zero fish in the hole and low and behold I pulled out a decent size crappie . Take that as you will. For the price I really can't complain , and you should expect it to function like a $500 plus fish finder

Batterys lasted 2 fishing trips that where all day long great for the price easy to use and it works. caught fish both times I used it. if I ever need a new one I will buy again

Garbage. Connection came apart and the float did nothing. Now half of this is sitting at the bottom of the lake.

Hello i purchased this fish finder last winter and before i even bought it i watched some reviews and videos on how it worked. Well as i found out its a bit confusing on the wording etc. I would use it but only one of my friends has been able to get it to work as it should. I just cant figure it out, i guess u should have looked into more fish finders before i purchased this one. It bumms me out thank you

I only used this unit once but I was impressed by how nit worked. I had a little hard time trying to figure out how to turn on the functions but once I figured it out the unit showed a lot of fish at different depths. I think it is a good buy for the money.
