Basic straight forward 4-input usb mixer - built like a tank
I'd spent a lot of time looking for a usb mixer and had real trouble finding one that had all the features that I wanted - at least 4 inputs, built in effects, usb out, phantom power and able to act as a stand alone mixer, on/off switch - and wasn't too large or too complicated. This Alesis mixer has all the features that I wanted and is only 18 x 22 x 06 cm. The first thing I noticed when I picked up the box was that it was heavy - this thing is built like a tank, steel facia and back, with plastic sides and the knobs and switches all feel quality. In line with most 4 track mixers inputs 1 and 2 have XLR and jack inputs and separate EQ controls and inputs 3 and 4 are just jack inputs and share one set of EQ controls. Inputs 1 and 2 have both gain and level knobs, as well as pan knobs, while 3 and 4 just have level knobs. Inputs 1 and 2 also have 80HZ low cut switches and input two has a guitar switch to accept high impedance signals. There are 15 effects - 8 reverb, 2 delay, 3 modulation (chorus, flange and rotary) and two multi (chorus and reverb) plus a bypass setting. Effects are dialled in via the selector knob and controlled by both a FX send knob on the inputs and a master FX return level knob. On the back are the power 18V power input, on/off switch, phantom power switch and the usb out socket. The unit comes with short, straight-forward instructions in English and I was very quickly able to get it up and running. Everything works as you would expect in a straight-forward manner, when connected to my iMac it immediately recognised the Alesis and I was able to transfer data. The gain and level knobs are a good feature and on most things that I've plugged in - electric guitars, acoustic guitars, ukuleles, mics, condenser mics etc - I've quickly been able to adjust the signal and get a usable sound. The headphone inputs works fine and there is also a mini jack input to connect mp3 players etc which I haven't used yet. The effects are quite subtle and don't sound synthetic, they are easily adjusted via the send and return knobs. All in all I am very pleased with this mixer, I had considered mixers with more inputs and controls and I'm so glad that I didn't go down that road, the simplicity of this Alesis mixer makes it so easy to use and when lockdown is over and I get a chance to use it in a live setting I'm sure it will come into its own on a dimly lit stage. There are cheaper mixers out there with more features but this does feel quality and I'm sure that it will last.

Alesis Multimix 8 USB
I purchased this deck after reading the reviews and I am glad I did. Its ideal for my home recording and plugs straight into my PC. Using ASIO4All driver there is minimal latency. The only critism is that it has only one channel for guitar, but I can still work with this. Its a very robust design and the knobs are nice and smooth. It also fits on my desk tray with plenty of room around it. I used to have a Behringer, which only lasted about 6 years and gradually degraded until it did not work at all, so I won't by Behringer again until their quality gets better. In summary the Alesis has exceeded my expectations and would recommend this for the home recordist.

Good mixer with many features
Good mixer for the price, with many features including USB, microphone inputs, 2x stereo line ins for keyboards, drums, etc and a passive pick-up guitar line in. Also comes with Steinberg Software. The only problem with it is the registration of the software did not work properly so I have only a trial period to use it. I have read others had a similar problem. Luckily, I prefer Cubase software so it does not really affect me.

Brilliant bit of kit
I have been trying for ages to set up a decent karaoke in my kitchen using my tv/spare pc/small powered amp but just couldn't quite get it right. After a few reviews (which are really good for this model) on YouTube I decided to purchase this mixer and I have to say it is great and along with a new wireless mic it solved all my problems. Now I just turn on/tune in and drop out as we used to say back in the day.

It just works.
I'm a drummer and alongside other mixers (due to multiple mics) this just works. Also has usable software included.

Lack of mids on EQ
Worked ok, would be fine depending on what you're using it for - unfortunately with my set up (baby Taylor and headset mic) the lack of mids not he EQ was a problem as my equipment tends to sound very trebly. Was hoping to return but seems I've just missed the cut-off, hoping to still if there is a way as only been used twice and is unsuitable.

This is a well made and great mixer. I have it set up with a ...
I am not an experienced digital tech. However I wanted to record my midi key board and guitar and vocal tracks on to my Mac Book Pro. This is a well made and great mixer. I have it set up with a direct midi from my keyboards and this handling all other inputs and outputs. The fx is a bit weak but I cannot fault the quality of the product or the sound reproduction. The set up was easy and straightforward.

A big disappoint. Ordered "Alesis Multimix 4 USB FX" but received a non FX old version. Even the product is not matching with the product photos advertised. Here i am posting photos of the product what i received.
