Worked great on popcorn ceilings in my rental house.

Worth the money. Ceilings with one coat instead of 2.
Saved me all sorts of time. One coat instead of 2. Washed out well for the next use.

Split-foam rollers work well when used correctly and this brand is very good quality
A split-foam roller works very well when painting popcorn ceilings/surfaces. The concept is like a row of foam pineapple slices stacked together. This brand is good quality and stays together without pieces breaking off through at least 3 painting sessions when properly cleaned and stored, which is the value I wanted. Cleaning is a little more time-consuming since occasional popcorn bits get stuck between foam slices (with any brand) and by design it absorbs a lot of paint, but when used correctly (keep loaded with plenty of paint but not too much, don’t apply tons of pressure and don’t loiter in any one area too long to prevent moistening the bits), it doesn’t remove the texture and fills in the spaces very well.

Wonderful BUT for a large room buy 4
Good roller for popcorn ceiling but I would suggest buying more than one if you are doing a large room. The popcorn can get stuck in the paint on the brush and make you miss some spots but when you do your second coat it fixes the spots missed.

WOOSTER!!!
I love this roller. It's ideal for repainting the doors in my house, providing a smooth finish without holding excess paint. The roller is also very easy to clean and dries quickly. However, a word of caution: don't let the roller dry with anything touching it, as it will form a dent that could transfer to the surface the next time you use it.

Meh
It's OK. Didn't deposit much popcorn, splattered popcorn all over. Ended up using a brush and the pat pat method

The Best Roller For Popcorn Ceilings!
These rollers worked great for our kitchen ceiling, so much so that I have ordered an extra set to paint the living room and dining room ceilings. I did not find much texture came off with these rollers; in fact far less than I had expected. Our house is nearly 30 years old and has had years to settle—for the first few years I would daily vacuum up popcorn from the floors that had fallen from the ceilings. So if your home is newer you might possibly lose more of the texture to these rollers but we simply didn’t find it to be excessive in the least. The rollers did occasionally skip over the spaces in between the popcorn texture, and I would find myself having to reload the roller with paint and touch up those areas. Also, be sure to clean these rollers very thoroughly after each use, or you may find the they get stiff and impossible to use, especially if you have been using them with oil-based primer or paint. They do hold a lot of paint, so when I was finished for the day I would don some latex gloves and squeeze the excess paint out of the roller and right back into the paint can. Then I’d repeatedly rinse the roller with mineral spirits since I was using oil-based paint. It usually took several times before I felt the roller was well cleaned of paint and ready for the next day’s use. Overall, I was very pleased with these rollers and won’t hesitate to use them again.

Surprised! Single coat coverage!
OK - I was skeptical that I could find a paint roller that would cover popcorn ceilings in a single coat. An internet search revealed that "split foam" rollers were the best approach so I got one of these to try. I am delighted by the result. The rollers hold a lot of paint which can be applied to the popcorn surface with very little pressure. In my use, I found that although I had to be careful not to drip paint on the floor as I was moving the roller from the paint tray to the ceiling, the roller did not apply "too much" paint on the popcorn so there were no drips from the ceiling after painting. In addition, since the paint could be applied with very little pressure, there was very little damage to the popcorn (very few "kernels" falling off the ceiling or sticking to the roller). And as a added bonus - great coverage with a single coat. I will definitely be buying more of these since there are lots of popcorn ceilings that need to be painted.
