Good for beginners.

This is a great book for beginner Violin students. My father, a well known Violinist from Kolkata, India followed this book for teaching his students for his whole life. Now, I do the same with my students in Hyderabad, India and from around the country as well as from the US.Ms. Eta Cohen, very thoughtfully crafted this book which helps learners to grasp the Western staff notation easily, and understand the basics of the traditional European Classical music comprehensively. It's a time tested book and of a great repute. Good to see now it is available on Amazon for quick delivery in Hyderabad.

Very good and easy pieces. Ideal for beginners...

Easy and a good book for beginners

The pieces are definitely melodious and explore different styles and rhythms. I do not see a reason why a beginner should not enjoy learning with this book. However, it should not be the only book for any serious pursuer of the violin. One has to start on etudes and technique books as soon as possible and put in lots of hours on those.
