You disappoint me
Way too go. I’m excited to come home to my new android tv box with android 9.0. I’m setting it up. It’s a little smaller than the other box I got that is by the same company and is blue/red compared to the yellow/red/black. I’m excited I plug the power and nothing is displayed on the screen like my other device so I thought this upgraded one didn’t have the time in front, so I’m like okay. I plug in the hdmi and wait to see anything on screen...nothing. I flip over the unit and see a red light, so I know it is working. I switch out the hdmi cable. I tried the remote...nothing...what is this....did I just buy a dud. Man way to ruin my day. Now I have to wait for my replacement. Good thing it happened now then in 30 day. Man I’d be pissed. Well I’ll have an update when I get my new one.

Not a fan
I have had nothing but issues with this unit. You push the power button it does not come on. It consistantly freezes.

It does not work
The item arrived in an open package, it seemed that it had already been used or replaced. The article never worked.

Android TV on a budget
H96max 3318This is a cost effective way to get Android apps streaming on your TV. It comes with Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube out of the box, has both Ethernet and dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, usb3, HDMI. The home screen UI is functional, but there is little you can customize. There are issues with Google Play, and some apps you might want are not listed (Hulu, Spotify, many others) and even the stock apps cannot be updated there. Expect to do a little work if you want updates or more apps, and install an alternate app marketplace like APKpure. This probably isn't suitable for non-tech savvy people who don't have some decent Android experience to work around the glitches. That said, it is very compact, has all the connectivity you likely need, handy clock which isn't too bright to be distracting, runs the apps I wanted it to run, and is stable with no lockup or crashes. If you are looking for something inexpensive to do basic streaming, this can handle it. The Ethernet is 100m only, and my Wi-Fi tests haven't made it above 50m. I'd be concerned that the low end chipset and network might not handle high bitrate video over a LAN. Bottom line is, yes, it is worth the price over higher end devices like Nvidia Shield, if you aren't trying to do extreme things, and have a bit of patience and skill to get it setup.
