Jonathan Green41000 Heavy Traffic Grass Seed, 7 lb

This is just what I needed, I can't believe how fast it grew!!! I had a bad storm that upended trees, the machines to remove them left big ruts in the lawn which were filled in with topsoil. I used this to grow grass back in the area that was damaged, within a few days I saw the grass already growing, now it is plush and strong and beautiful. I will never use anything else, this grass seed is the best I've ever used, highly recommend it!

I live in the panhandle of Florida, my soil is a mixture of sand, calcium deposits, red dirt, and a bunch of unfavorable chemicals. It's been very difficult trying toget grass to grow. Not just sprout and die. I bought this in hopes to get bare spots filled in along with making the grass thickerto help choke out weeds and crab grass. This has been better than the Scotts treatments. I will only buy this kind for now on. It's full, it's thick, it's only taken about 4 weeks to start filling in. And it's like carpet. Though i enriched my soil with cow manure, mirical grow, ironite, 10-10-10, watered and airiated the yard before i spread the seed. Once i spread the seed, i ariated the yard again to ensure the seeds got buried so they would wash out. None the less, i put in just as much work with about 5 other name brand grass seeds. This seems tobe more durable, thicker, and greener than all the rest. I highly recommend this product

Great seed that germinated quickly. I put this down a few weeks ago after aerating and used it for over seeding the bare spots in my yard. Hands down, Jonathan Green has a superior product. Just a side note to people who complain that they can't get seed to grow or complain that a certain seed is bad etc, do your homework and check the PH of your soil! Go on YouTube and watch videos from "the lawn care nut" as well as videos from manufactures like Jonathan Green etc. Every single reputable person will tell you to feed the soil first and the grass will grow. Check your PH, research grass types for your climate zone (WHICH TYPE GROWS BEST IN YOUR PART OF THE COUNTRY) and stop using a fully synthetic lawn program. I have learned so much about soil biology, microbes, PH and so on, that I will never not use quality seed or organic fertilizers ever again. My lawn is thick and beautiful except for the pee spots my shepherd gives me, and 100% organic. Take some time and watch some vids, you'll have the nicest lawn on the block and be that much wiser than the average homeowner. Enjoy!

Grows well in some spots but not others, pretty expensive for the amount of seed.

Got about 50-60% germination (I suppose that's about average). The true test will be when temps are hitting 80 deg every day (Florida), we'll see if it just browns out and leaves me with nothing like all the others, including Scotts. UPDATE TO MY PRIOR 3-STAR RATING: This does not stand up to heat, and oh by the way, the 50-60% germination- remember those Chia pet things you could buy and put seed all over, and the seed would sprout and look like hair. That's what you get here- about 2-3" high, very fine grass that either wilts or gets trampled.

Can’t say enough about this grass seed. Its absolutely the best brand yet. For germination, strength and appearance, this is the only seed I’ll buy ever. Its advertisement is spot on! We have heavy traffic along with two large dogs and the root system is strong, durable and holds up as advertised! Totally recommend this product over all competitive brands!

I planted this grass seed after using the Jonathon steps prior. It has been 4 days and I can already see little peach fuzz of grass coming up! We have 3 dogs, a lab and 2 jack russels. Grass doesn't stand a chance in our backyard. This product will definitely be tested! I will update review after a few more weeks. The value for the bag is expensive for the size bag, but If it works, I wouldn't mind buying more bags. SO FAR SO GOOD!

We went heavy on the seed and I’m so glad we did. The photos are exactly a month apart. The neighbors are jealous and we are loving being in the backyard again. We will see how it hold with our two dogs but so far it’s amazing.
