Im astounded that a device sold in the uk doesn’t come with a uk adapter!! How is it supposed to work. Surely a customer shouldn’t have to pay £185 for a clock then have to spend more money for an adapter.

So I got myself this fancy alarm clock. It's the nicest one I've ever owned. Compared to the rectangular, button-filled, segmented-display of my previous alarm clocks, the Hatch looks positively beautiful. At a glance, it feels more like decoration than appliance. It's also really easy to set up. I typically prefer my devices to be configurable without external apps, but I'm also tired of fiddling with alarm clocks. I find that just configuring the Hatch setup in an app is preferable to the click-click-clicking on my older alarm clocks. App-based configuration also means that the Hatch only has a handful of buttons on the device. The most prominent are two, large buttons on the top that server as the "start" and "stop" functions. They're large enough to accommodate location even in my sleep-addled sleep. That design feels appropriate and well thought through. The sleep features are nice. I like to sleep with my windows open when I can, so the white noise features help when the nights are loud with random noises. I didn't previously do anything to mask background noises when I sleep, but I can see the appeal. The library of sounds helped me find something that wasn't distracting and it certainly dulled the various chirps, squeals, and sirens that happen at night. Okay, so it's pretty and combines white noise and alarm clock features in a better user experience than I'm accustomed. That's nice and deserves an appropriate review. But then it went beyond my expectation. It changed my sleep behavior! I am (was?) one of those people who was most recently using their phone as their alarm clock. I'd set two alarms because I often sleepily slapped the Snooze on the first (or cancelled it outright) and wanted some guarantee that I'd get up on time. In retrospect, this feels like an obvious dysfunction. Since I got my Hatch, I've been using it as my primary alarm clock. I still keep my phone's alarm as a backup, but I don't think I need it anymore. I find that I'm waking up *with* my primary alarm and, sometimes, even just before it. I'm turning off my second alarm before it sounds. I also feel like I'm less startled when waking. It feels gentler. Even though my phone has a slowly crescendoing alarm, I often felt like I was rousing to a klaxon. With the light and the smooth audio, I feel like I'm being coaxed awake by the Hatch. I feel like I'm going to sleep more easily and waking up more readily. While everything about it is top notch, I feel like that's my ultimate assessment of the Hatch Restore 2. It's more than a nice-looking alarm clock. It's changed how I get into and out of bed each day. If it can do that then it's five stars from me.

A couple glitches in the app here and there, but overall a great product. I use it every day and have pre programmed alarms based on the day of the week

I've struggled with sleep as far back as I can remember, sometimes suffering from particularly rough bouts of chronic insomnia. I have that kind of brain that just loves to review every upcoming task the moment I close my eyes, and quality sleep often alludes me. I've tried every trick in the book, including medication, listening to podcasts, and I've even undergone sleep studies. Suffice to say, sleep has always been hard to come by for me. I purchased the Hatch Restore 2 on a whim, as I really enjoy testing new tech, wanted to see if anything could help with my sleep struggles, and thought at worst it would be a fun sound machine. Boy, did I underestimate this incredible little gadget! The Hatch Restore 2 has already made a positive difference in my life in just under a week. I had a little trouble connecting to Wi-Fi at first, but after some adjustments I was good to go. I started the first evening with a simple low lilac light and rain sound - quickly feeling my eyelids grow heavier as I tried unsuccessfully to explore the app further with my tired eyes. The next evening, I added a road trip sound, pairing that with a low peach night light. Again, I found myself surprised by how effectively the repetition and gentle sounds lulled my mind away from stressful things - and instead pushed me into an unexpected slumber. By day three I subscribed to a trial pro account to take full advantage of Hatch's features for the Restore 2. Though admittedly there are plenty of options on a free account. I added a sunset step to my evenings to slowly wind down with dimming light, before my programmed lilac rain sleep setting took over. I also added a morning moment, that will play a gentle harp to ease me into my day after the slowly rising light wakes me with my alarm. I plan to try the morning meditation soon. I'm still testing different combinations of rest and rise options, dialing in the way the Restore 2 behaves for me. There's a lot to explore, and it's fun and easy to try new things and adjust them to my preferences. The product interface is simple, straightforward, and user friendly. The device itself is modern, classy, and makes clean statement next to my Google Nest on my bedside table. A cool little bonus I didn't foresee - is how much my 1 year old Yorkshire Terrier enjoys it as well. She's an anxious little 5 pound dog and the Restore 2 helps mask noise from outside in our suburban neighborhood, where we live close to downtown. I can also set the device to pink or brown noise when I put her in her den while I step out to grab groceries. It helps keep her calm in those rare moments I'm away. While I'm still discovering all the Restore 2 can do, I'm already so grateful for the positive impact it's made in my life. Thank you, Hatch!

I love this alarm as it allow me to wake up gently and leave my phone in the other room. The feature to design your morning with a softer light and color that gradually gets brighter with music that can also adjust louder, is wonderful.
