Genius product. No more runaway patio furniture!
These things are friggin genius. My wicker sofa lounge set blows all over tarnation because we live right on the water on a peninsula, and it drove me crazy all last summer. I’ve been having anxiety about bringing my furniture out for the warm months because of it and couldn’t think of how I’d get a zip tie threaded around the deck to secure it, and then BAM, this product. The ONLY potential issue will be if your deck doesn’t have a wide enough slat between each 2x4. I was afraid that would be the case for me but I was able to force them through (the slats in my deck are about 1/4”.) I felt sheer joy installing these because I know they’re going to work perfectly for what I need. Also it was really nice that they give you a few replacement pieces incase you mess up and have to cut one of them and try again. HIGHLY recommend these.

great purchase
We bought a pop up gazebo and did not want to secure it down with wood screws. After some researching I found these ProGrip deck downs. I saw the video and thought this would be a good thing to secure it down. It was a little tuff getting them in between the wood so keep in mind there needs to be some spacing if you want to place them with ease. I actually used a screwdriver to push them down but I am happy they are so secure since it can get windy and my main concern is will this help hold the gazebo down. I purchased steel clips to attach to them and to the gazebo. It all looks so much neater than the rope we had so I Think this was just perfect. They can stay in place for other seasons if the Gazebo hold up to the elements of weather this summer. We can use the grips that are already in place and put everything back up.

Use different zip ties
First lesson - do not use the included zip ties. They are weak and will break as you try to tighten them down, thus causing you to lose 1/2 the parts. Once I substituted some strong zip ties, the product worked great. My deck furniture no longer gets blown around during our frequent wind storms. I have not looked, but it would be nice if the company just sold the metal part that goes below the decking surface. If I ever need to move/remove these, they will be obsolete without that necessary replacement part.

Easy and convenient
The solution to tying down our furniture on a boat dock at a ski lake. We put these in the deck, then drill a small hole in the base of each piece of furniture, and run a strong zip tie through that hole and through the pro grip deck down. On the pieces of furniture that we want to be able to move around from time to time, we use a small carabiner to connect them together. So far, so good, and we get strong winds there.

Great concept...horrible execution.
If you have a deck surface you can't get under, and you break a zip-tie during installation, you lose the zip-tie and the backing disc, the disc cannot be recovered. As a manufacturer, you must know you have poor execution when you provide 2 extra discs and 2 extra zip-ties...an anticipated 50% failure rate!Well...not only did I use both of the spare discs, I also used all of the zip-ties, as some of them broke even before I pushed the disc through the gap in the deck. I had to go to the store to get more ties! All of the tie breakages occurred during installation. I'm hoping that they will hold up to the spring winds of New Mexico, but I have little confidence. Due to the already fragile nature of the ties, I suspect I will be looking for another solution next spring, as I believe the ties will get brittle over the winter. This product needs to have a stronger alternative to zip-ties.

My wife didn't get the idea when she saw the product on the counter but after I attached the chairs to these she was very happy. My toddler on the other hand
After watching our toddler drag a chair to the deck railing then proceed to stand up and lean over the railing, I started searching for solutions. This was exactly what I was looking for to tie down the chairs and prevent any accidents. I got bungee cords to loop around the base of the seat then hook to these. Depending on the length of bungee cord this will allow for you to turn the chairs to sit in, but even prevents chair from tipping. My wife didn't get the idea when she saw the product on the counter but after I attached the chairs to these she was very happy. My toddler on the other hand, was not so happy the next time she tried to move the chairs.

Beware using with hidden fasteners
The concept is great but the product did not work for me on the deck utilizing hidden fasterns and low laying deck. The hidden fasteners with a composite deck has a very small crack between boards. The product does not slip between the boards. The assembled product cannot be dismantled and reassembled if one could access the underside of the decking.

Deck Down
This product is great. I put up a pop up screen gazebo and used the Progrip Deck Downs to tie it down. I've went through two storms and they held my pop up screen gazebo in place. This is a very good item. Met my expectation.
