Tedious assemble; worth it results!
Prepare to be a power screwdriver machine! Great design with rolling butcher block leaf. Beautiful. Very usable space in cabinets. Fit and finish (with some patience) awesome. Nothing damaged in shipment. Nice needed part of our kitchen now!

Nice piece but difficult to put together!
Beautiful piece, but HORRIBLE to put together! The directions are confusing at times, and I ended up putting pieces in wrong, which lead to the island not lining up. After taking it apart, on the second day, I got it together and it looks fantastic! The holes on one drawer didn't line up, so I had to use other holes on the bracket. It finally worked that way. The directions didn't show this! Over all, it took me 8 hours, with 2 of those breaking it down, before reconstructing it! It does take 2 people at times, to get the pieces lined up and lifted. I've put together over 100 different pieces over my life, and this one was by far, the hardest! We're glad it's finished!

Plywood and hardware are terrible - updated
So I’m updating this. Unable to find anything else for a decent price, desperate for the storage and this one just checking all of the boxes, we’ve kept it and put it together. Everyone likes the looks of it. Since this will be getting a lot of use rather than sitting in corner for occasional storage, it’s needed significant reinforcement. I added glue wherever I could during assembly and this helped with the wood pulping when turning screws. The bolts are still giving me headaches especially since one of the drawer fronts won’t stay on at all they’re just not as solid as ones I’ve used before. I’ll be adding reinforcing brackets this weekend because I don’t have confidence this will last long otherwise with heavy use (baking). I’ll also reinforce the bottom of the drawers because someone will inevitably put something heavy into them and I don’t think they can hold that much weight. I’ll have to add more holes for the shelves because they’re all too low for a Kitchenaid mixer. Getting the doors on even was a trick. I measured and all of the holes were even so I found out that there’s some leeway with where the hinges are when the screws are tightened. I had to tighten the screws with the door lined up in the right place. I didn’t have many chances to try to align them because the wood would be too compromised to hold a screw, glue or not, with too many tries. I’m not inclined to change my rating at this point because this has just been a huge pain and will continue to be until I shore it up. We’ll see how long it holds. —————————————————————— I had the same experience as the other negative reviews and am returning this. When screwing in hardware, the plywood mostly just shredded and had little grip. Despite being careful to not over tighten, the plywood twisted up and the black cover cracked. I tried gorilla glue to keep the integrity of the plywood, but I think it just absorbed it because when I unscrewed it to send it back, it was like there was no glue at all. When trying to use the round screw thing (pictured), none tightened properly no matter what I did. I just used this type of hardware on another item, and there’s a huge difference in hardware quality. It was still wobbly no matter what I did. I can’t imagine this holding up to the wear kitchen furniture can sustain. I’m really sour. I spent a lot of time unboxing this, trying to get it together, take it apart and now I need to figure out how to rebox it. No more non-name brand stuff. I really need the extra storage in the kitchen but no way am I doing this again. I’ll have to figure something else out. We’ll see how the return goes.

Ok product, but definitely overpriced for it's quality
It works mostly as intended. A bit complicated to assemble, needed 2 people at points during the assembly. The pegs for the shelving don't stay put, so moving heavier objects can knock them loose & cause everything to fall. This is frustrating because we bought it to hold some of our additional small appliances and cookware. Instead, it holds a few snacks, and our small appliances hang out on the counter. The left drawer constantly catches and sticks, even with nothing in the cabinet or drawer. We've pulled out the drawer a few times to see if anything is loose or sticking out too far, but can't figure out the issue. Oh, and it's particle board. This isn't an issue in drier climates, or if delivered in dry weather, but it's was delivered in a rain storm, and some of the boards already have started to expand. Overall, I wouldn't buy it again, especially at almost $300. While it does mostly hold together well, the inability to use the shelving for heavier objects, the drawer issues, and the disintegrating particle board are annoying enough to get a mediocre review.

Great for storage, a lot of work to put together but worth it in my opinion.
Had this almost a year now, it’s working great, very stable and survived a move with no issues. Worked great for my tiny apartment with no cabinet space, and fits well in my new house also. However, it is a PROJECT to put together. Had to spend a few days on it, working on it bit by bit after work. To put it into perspective, you have to fully put the drawers together, down to screwing on the drawer mechanism and hinges on the cabinet doors. The instructions are easy to follow, so it’s definitely do-able. And i enjoy that sort of thing so I didn’t mind. Was just surprised by how much work it was. The wheels were particularly impressive to me, very heavy duty which is good because the unit itself is heavy and we use it for storage for our pots and pans. Wheels lock just like they should. Overall I definitely recommend this for people who enjoy “adult legos”.

Worth It!
Great Island! I was nervous about buying this, but very glad I did. Overall it's a great addition to our kitchen. It stores the extra kitchen appliances we do not use on a daily basis and my cake decorating tools, with some room to spare. It's sturdy once you have all the parts together and secured. It comes in a lot of pieces, but very well labeled. Ours personally had no damage on any corners, it was well packed with styrofoam all around the box. I started building it after work one night and my 10 year old was able to finish it for me while I was at work the next day. Instructions are very easy to follow. This is obviously not solid wood, nothing really is anymore. The backing is the thinnest point, but has good security once completely built. I did however show my kids that it is thinner and they know not to put their feet on it (where they sit with the barstools). I also waited until they were older before purchasing something like this, especially new. I do actually like this one so much, I'm planning to purchase another to make a drink station in a different part of the kitchen. And plan to push both of them together during bigger family gatherings for extra table space!
