Have not gotten around to read it yet, but impatient to do so. It is a must-have if you have The Vampire Diaries book collection, especially if you are a fan of the TV show and the Originals TV show. The reason why I gave 4 stars is because the top of the spine looks like it has been thrown around somewhat, not very noticeable. I'm someone who takes great care of books and have the spine looking like that doesn't sit well with me. I paid for pristine condition and get one that isn't.

This is the final book in these prequel novels about the Mikaelson family. Based on the television series "The Originals", this novel is the conclusion to the prequel series. It takes place in the late 1700s in New Orleans. It mirrors the current series as it shows war between the vampire and werewolves factions. It also shows how easily the family dynamics between Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah can be complicated and used against them. Overall message from the book without offering spoilers is that things never change between the "always and forever" siblings.
