Great follow-up to the first book
Loved their first book and at first glance I can already tell this will not disappoint. If they made 10 more, I would probably get them all - every recipe is a winner and sure to please even the most "non-vegan" person at your table.

Why is there meat and dairy in recipes?!
I’m just curious why it says chicken? Or to use milk or cheese... I thought this book was vegan. I’m really confused and although the book is beautiful and the recipes seem amazing I haven’t been able to use it because it has eggs and meat. Am I missing something? Heeeeeelp!!

Best Vegan cook book I've ever read, and yummiest!
This book was written from the heart. The ladies put there ALL into this, even after reading the intro (whew!) I was looking for not only more, but MUCH more of there explanation on how to recreate these delicious meals. The crew, (and there puppy friends) not only make reading this wonderful cook book, they make me excited to try all of there creations. You will never find a more spirit filled cookbook , vegan or non-vegan, than this, my hat's are off to the ladies (Shannon and Mo), and my complements to the chef! From the bottom of my heart to yours girls, Milton

Just Okay
The book itself is really pretty and aesthetically pleasing. That being said, very few of the recipes really jumped out at me as something I would want to make. I was a little disappointed.

BARELY A VEGAN COOKBOOK
I've had this and their other book on my wish list forever; they're quite pricey and I was hesitant to spend the $ until the other day I decided to splurge.Wow, the book is really nicely printed (a good deal of the cost is represented in the print flourishes like coloured page edges etc., lots of photos, sturdy cover, etc.) This is where the good stops. Many of the recipes are just lazy, 1/2 adapted versions of normal, meat/egg/dairy-based recipes. I can read a non-vegan recipe and make vegan substitutions on my own, I don't need to buy a book that purports to be vegan and yet still calls for things such as BEEF and/or MUTTON chunks. They call for BUTTER, CHEESE, CHICKEN, CHICKEN stock, etc.etc. Occasionally they reference "non-dairy" or some such when calling for shortening or cheese, but mostly they just expect us to assume/substitute vegan versions. They make mention of this at the start of the book...even stating that book buyers in the past have had issues with them not specifying "vegan" every time they mention "butter" or "beef", for example. So, they KNEW this was an issue and yet decided to double-down this time around -- huh?I feel this book is HIGHLY LAZY and borderline DISHONEST. I've never wanted to return a book, I've never felt LIED-TO by an author...until now.I'm sorry for the critical review, but wow, I feel disappointed and ripped-off.Save your money, and go buy just about any other cookbook, heck, if you want to find out what this book is like, you don't even have to buy a vegan one -- just grab any meat-based book that looks good and make the substitutions on your own. Even the basics such as tofu mayo and the like are "early-days" versions, ie. the ones you can find in 30 year-old vegan cookbooks -- they do not represent any of the more recent advances in techniques and other plant-based innovations.

Great for new vegans
I have mixed emotions about this book; on one hand it’s a beautiful tome of 240 pages, full of colour photos of the food and deli; It’s fun, well written and the staff seem adorable and I like the premise of delivering great vegan food and making it normal (which it is), there’s virtually no mention of the fact the ingredients are vegan apart from the cover and intro; all recipes list meat, cheese, milk and stock with no mention of “vegan”in front of them, if you’re buying a vegan cookbook then you know the ingredients will be vegan, right? Now on to the negatives; In the first few opening pages there’s an image of the front interior of the deli showing you the menu which looks fabulous, the sandwich descriptions had me drooling before I delved any further into the book so imagine my disappointment when upon finishing the book I realised they didn’t include any of these recipes. Instead what we get are the same rehashed recipes which appear in virtually all vegan cookbooks, mac and cheese, shepherds pie, lasagne, brownies, pesto, spaghetti bolognese etc. I can already make all these dishes and I believe most people can too. There are chapters on soups, salads, desserts, ready meals and pie fillings (probably my favourite chapter in the book but I can already cook a pretty awesome minced beef pie so I don’t need another recipe). Bizarrely, no sandwich section even though this appears to be the most popular item on their menu.Personally, I’m getting rather bored of vegan cookbooks of late as they just appear to be marketed towards new vegans and millennials who can’t cook; I’m an experienced cook, looking for something to up my game in the kitchen, unfortunately this book is too basic for me although it would suit a novice perfectly. I would definitely recommend this to a new vegan, it’s way better than other books currently on the market. I don’t like to criticise because the book is genuinely lovely and the authors appear passionate about their business which looks awesome. What a shame it’s in Melbourne and I’m in Norfolk!I have earmarked a few recipes to make, the cherry meringue pie using jarred morello cherries and Aquafaba meringue and the Thai curry pie look enticing. I will also use the sandwich list as inspiration to make my own creations.

Great book.
This is a great follow up to their first book. Beautifully designed this book has touching pages on the staff of the Deli as well as a tribute to the customers, then so many delicious recipes. I can't wait to try every one of them.

Good vegan cookbook
Some of the recipes are a bit more advanced than I usually cook but this book is great. If you're looking for an easier book try the thug kitchen books or bosh first.
