Great quality content
I purchased this book for use during the pandemic. My 5th grader didn't go back to school after spring break - it was so late in the school year I didn't want to get a 5th grade book so I went ahead and moved forward to 6th grade thinking there would be some overlap and there was a little bit. He used this book from March to August (I went ahead and had him study during the summer while he was at home also). He started 6th grade in September and this really helped him already be prepared. This book is repetative but that is what I liked about it. Each lesson is set up with a reading passage to read and then questions to answer. Very simple concept. It kept my kid reading and thinking during the pandemic. The passages also have learning content in themselves which is a bonus. Its very basic in the fact you read and then answer questions but it is great in the fact that it keeps the kid busy and learning. If you check the work afterward and give feedback you will seen an increase in their writing skills throughout the lessons. I would def recommend this product - either to supplement learning - or to get during the summer to prepare for the upcoming year. 11 year old got alot out of it. I purchased multiple books from this brand to supplement the learning.

The book that carries a heavy load to test prep to college.
If you learn from this book, you are preparing yourself to higher learning. This is the start to better reading and comprehension. This book is testing prep as well. Some questions in here are very similar to the ACT / SAT questions. I have taught out of this book for the last two years and my students who have taken the ACT / SAT shares with me great feedback because of this book.

Very nice!
I like these books. The texts are good. But I prefer the question format in the older versions. These questions I find are boring and not very challenging.

Straightforward lessons
The material in the book is straightforward with no frills. So it is easy to implement into our daily lessons at home. The lessons themselves are also easy to read and short, but with great comprehension questions. My only complaint if it’s really a complaint is with the book condition. It seems a little out of shape and worn which is likely just from transit.
