ONE THATS THE STAND AND THE OTHER HANGS THE CLOTHES HANGER ON. THE DIMENTIONS OF EACH ARE LISTED. I HAVE SWUNG FROM THESE RACKS SO THEY ARE STURDY. **Q: What are the dimensions of you configure it into two separate pieces?** A: I think the middle piece helps support the two outside pieces. I would suggest you just find a smaller rack if you want only the outside pieces. This one was put together in less than 20 minutes. check out the dimensions on the product on amazon and it will tell you all the dimensions for each piece. They hook together though for better support while standing uprite. **Q: Is there a unit that is the same size that is just shelves? Or can extra idividual pieces be ordered?
