Works as a nice short compression sock if you overlap a few times
Nice sock, the compression ABOVE the ankle is nice, but the arch to ankle area is not at all :(There is a solution, if you are okay with a shorter compression sock pull the sock all the way up, then pull it down until about 3-4 inches from the bottom of the heel, then roll it back over itself again. You end up with the nice tight compression of the calf area covering from the arch through the ankle area and the thickness doesn't feel bad at all. They are a bit warm this way, but they actually look quite good and the compression feels great. I had been thinking of buying shorter compression socks, but the fact that these work this way - I may buy more. Maybe a smaller size to see if the foot area is tighter? I am trying the Mojo compression socks next to see if they are a better solution.

Awesome socks!
I'm training for the Susan B Komen "3-Day for the Cure" walk, so I wanted to try out compression socks for the long distances AND I also wanted some very fashionable PINK socks... well, I found them! I trained for a few weeks before I got them in just regular socks with no major blisters (but still present), swelling in my legs, and the like. Nothing serious or too painful, but I definitely required a lot of stretching after the walk as my legs were just tired.Once I bought these socks I tried them on. First impression... they are SOFT and THICK!! Huge plus since I'll be racking up the miles in these babies (the event is 20 miles a day for 3 days = 60 miles). Next, they came up above my knees (or pretty darn close), but I'm only 5'1", so I'm used to anything I buy not being made for short people. I just pushed them down below my knees and they were fine. Still very fashionable. :D Last... the walk and my results after. Yeah, walked the same pace, same distance, and everything. My feet and legs felt great! I felt like I could walk another 10 miles that day. They weren't tired, no blisters, and even the next day my legs didn't feel too tired like previous days they had. Basically, I could tell a difference and I wasn't just trying to look for a difference.I've walked a few days since this without my compression socks (I only bought 3 pair so far), and I can always feel a difference in my legs, especially my calves and ankles. They're tired, "heavy", and a little swollen. I would definitely recommend them for anyone who is doing this walk. I love them, love the way they look, and am going to buy more now that I really know how they feel for training and the day of the event. :D

Great Compression Sock!
Compression socks can be pricey so when I saw these for around $20, I was a little skeptical but they had good reviews so I decided to purchase. I purchased a Medium and I wear a women's size 9 and they fit almost perfectly. They tend to stretch out just a little but nothing too bad. They feel very comfortable to wear and definitely make a difference in my post-exercise soreness. I am a busy mom and tend to be on my feet all day so I'll wear these to bed even if I haven't worked out that day and I wake up feeling great. They really seem to help alleviate any minor swelling in my feet and ankles and I like how they feel around my shins and calves. They are a bit long for me and come up on my knees slightly which I don't like. I usually just fold them down to feel more comfortable. A really good product for the price.

A good light compression sock
I’ve used these socks for harder runs, and I feel they help to somewhat reduce my tendency to get shin splints. It may be some placebo effect, but I don’t really care either way. I know the jury is out on whether compression socks help during an event (nowadays you don’t see many pro athletes wearing them) but I’ve worn this sock for long tempo runs, long runs, and my last three marathons. It can be worn for distance without rubbing or causing sore spots. I generally keep them on for a couple of hours after a long run to try to aid recovery. On hot days I don’t find they get too warm, but on cold days they do help. Overall this is a sock I keep coming back to and re-buying because I don’t really want to experiment with anything else for my distance races.

Sizing information
I am a woman who wears a size 9 wide shoe and size 12 clothing, and I swim with a masters team so I have some muscles but not extremely athletic. I ordered a small, figuring I was close to the borderline and would size down a little for more compression. I find these socks quite hard to get on--they really are much tighter in the ankle than in the calf. The compression seems to vary properly for quite firm compression (I have never worn prescription compression socks). I find women's knee socks usually too short for me, but these are just right (not too long at all). The foot is comfortable. I'm going to buy a medium because I'm not confident of that tight a compression for a very long airplane flight. But I think the size I bought would be right for wearing for a few hours after a race.
