I can only relay my own personal experience. This is not to say that others' needs, and thus experiences, could be different.I found that 1). The speaker housings and the wires themselves are very intrusive. I could not get used to the feel of them through the sides and top of the pillow. 2). I had to try to keep my most-affected ear flat against the pillow, in order to hear the sound. This is nearly impossible, since I tend to turn in my sleep, as do most people. I also tried sleeping on my back with my head positioned between the two speakers, but again I experienced the same problem. 3). The sound is quite muffled, at least through my pillow, and the volume stays quite low. (I had it hooked-up to my iPod). Actually, in most tinnitus masking situations, this is not a problem, as the sound generally doesn't doesn't need to be overly loud in order to mask, nor do sounds need to be of superb audiophile quality. I'm mentioning the low volume and low-quality sound reproduction for those readers with normal hearing who might want to try these speakers for personal music or talk show/news listening; e.g. so as not to disturb a sleeping partner. It's possible that using a very thin pillow, along with an audio source with a more powerful output would solve that problem, but I doubt it, since the frequency reproduction itself is poor.So, based on the above experiences, I'm going to stick with my bedside fan for masking, and I may try a bedside sound/white noise generator. As anyone with severe tinnitus knows, it can be extremely disheartening, and very difficult to find solutions. One must often keep trying different approaches in order to find out what might work for them. I have been fortunate in finding tinnitus solutions for other areas in my life, so don't give up hope, and know that you're not alone. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ No sound problem, solution for movement *by H***T on Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2010* I've had these speakers about 10 months, and although I don't use them every night, they are under my pillow almost every night anyway. I use them with an ipod, and even in my 40's with some normal hearing loss, I don't have any trouble with the volume being too quiet. In fact, I often have to turn the ipod down quite a bit so my spouse doesn't have to listen, too.The movement of the speakers was a bit pesky when I first got them, but then I hit upon the idea of sewing a sleeve for the speakers onto my protective pillowcase. It was an extremely simple fix of applying a 4"x20" sleeve onto the case, and it would be easy enough to do with fabric glue if you feel sewing challenged.My MIL and I both use these, and I'm back on this page because my teen son is looking for these to use at college. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Fragile *by B***X on Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2019* These are not worth the price in my opinion. If you buy them treat them gently. One of my speakers has quit working already. They slide around under pillow or pillow case. Also, it isn't quite loud enough at highest volume. I'm going back to my previous pillow speaker which worked great but has a felt lIke cover that picks up hair, lint, etc. I'm about to cover it with something - not sure what yet.
