A Tale of despair (Warehouse item)
Before I start, I’m going to say I loved Amazon's customer service and the fact they always seem to go the extra mile for their customers, and delivery with prime is super-fast to boot. But I’m left feeling very annoyed after the events that I’m going to follow this sentence with:Well I have an Epson wf7720 (the dual paper tray version) and when I saw a warehouse deal for a 7710 at just under seventy quid I thought, "Hell I'm all over that", as it said it works as intended but has a few cosmetic imperfections, so that's how it started and as I’m a prime member it would be here the next day as well added bonus right? Yeah, that is what I thought, but tomorrow came and went and no printer, so I look on my account to find it now says delivery date pending, which I thought was a bit odd as it said they had it in stock. So I contacted customer support who blatantly lied to me saying “oh there was a mistake made at the warehouse, as it missed the shipment due to it was coming from Germany, and that they would mark it as priority and it will be with me within 48 hours, can you guess what happens next?..... yup it didn’t show so back to customer services who apologised and said they would message said warehouse again, and if it isn’t with me by the end of the week to get back In-touch again. So the week goes by and still no printer, so I contact customer support again to be told they are waiting on stock which is odd as it was a damaged item remember, so I was then told I could have a refund or wait, so I chose to wait a month goes by and then there is a knock at the door and there it is the printer for a bargain price or, so I thought, well it came with no power cable or ink to set it up with, so I ordered both and when they arrived I went to make sure it was just cosmetic damaged as it only had a few scuff marks on it when it arrived, so I power it up and it started making a clicking noise to which I was a bit dubious about, but nonetheless I went and got some paper to put it in the drawer and it then says paper jam, so I go and empty the paper feed system that has no paper in it yet it still says jam, that and the gear grinding noise that was happening every time I turned it on, so I turned it off in the hope a shutdown and reboot might clear it, and to my amazement it did, however when checking the paper feed I noticed the maintenance box was full of ink no biggy I thought as it might have been from the factory, so I put my cartridges in and hit the print a nozzle check, only to have it then tell me there is no paper in it, so I make sure it is in the cassette correctly which it was, but still it says no paper. I thought I will test it on the rear feed instead, so I put some paper in which it then grabbed and started to get it into the ready state, but then it somehow takes all the paper in one go and spits it out the front with no nozzle check done (the print head didn’t move). So after lots of turning it on and off again I thought I will give it a proper look over but after all that still no joy, so I thought ah it will get sent back to Epson, and they will fix it, so back to customer support I go, only to have the Amazon staff member tell me due to it being a 2nd hand item it has no warranty, yet I purchased it as a cosmetically damaged new item, so I tried tot tell them that yet the guy wouldn’t budge and then just terminated the chat, so the 2nd guy starts reply but says the same thing so in short I’m not a happy customer right now. Amazon sent me a broken one after making me wait over a month for it. :(

Arrived Faulty
Unfortunately this was faulty from first powering on. On putting in new cartridges (supplied with the printer) it failed to recognize them and kept asking to re-insert. The default language was German, it is impossible to change this, or any other settings, without first inserting new cartridges. It's also not a scanner, obvious from the description, but seems like a pretty ridiculous feature not to include. Finally the cartridges that come with it are tiny set up ones, they don't supply any free paper, and it comes without a USB cable. I wouldn't mind all of this if the printer was cheap - it's very expensive!

It's a big bugger
The product arrived about a week earlier than promised and actually surprised me as I didn't expect it. However the parcel was so heavy that it was difficult to handle it. This is because the printer was twice as big as the usual size. Having installed it and got it going it works perfectly well and the additional size will probably prevent things being too much for it. Clearing a paper jam is extremely simple as is the installation of inkjets. There is no scanner with this model, it appears to be concentrated on printing alone which is not a bad thing. Also it can print pages in excess of A4. There are only 4 inkjets with this model but I have compared a photograph with one from another printer and I can't notice any difference. I think this printer is aimed at users who do a lot of office printing. Time will tell how it turns out as I haven't had too much time to use itHamilton Blade

Great value for impressive machine
Excellent machine for a very good price. Two paper trays so I can keep both plain and photo paper loaded. Uses relatively cheap ink cartridges. Only minor snag was the continental mains plug!
