FROG AND TOAD ARE FRIENDS(ICR 2) (I Can Read Book 2)

孫の生活発表会で聞いた音楽劇「お手紙」が素敵で原文で読みたいと思い購入。カエル君とガマ君の温かい友情をモチーフにした数篇からなる本書。とても良い作品ばかりでほっこりした気持ちになれました。英語を習ったばかりの小学生にも読める簡単な文章で大人には日本語ではこう訳すんだとおもしろかったです。他のシリーズも読みたくなりました。

中学生に多読の宿題が出るため簡単という評判をみて購入しました。中２が辞書をほとんどひかずに読むことができるレベルの簡単な英語で書かれています。英語だととてもあっさりと感じるので、国語の教科書に載ったりもしているがまくんとかえるくんの美しい日本語とユーモラスな雰囲気は訳者の三木卓さんの手腕によるものなのかもしれません。紙も丈夫で最後まで絵もカラーでとても綺麗な本でした。このシリーズは書店で購入すると１２００円前後の値段がついていることが多いのでお値段もリーズナブルで良かったです。

日本語を持っていたが娘の英語学の為に

日本語版を読んで気に入り、英語でも読みたくなりました。温かい気持ちになります。

小二の息子が国語で「お手紙」を学習したので、タイミング的にちょうどよく英語に触れさせられると思い購入しました。過去に、きかんしゃトーマスなどもう少し低年齢用のものを購入したことがありましたが、あちらは鉄道用語や鉄道オノマトペが多用されていて読みづらかったです……が、こちらは非常に読みやすかったです！日本人向けに書かれた英文かな？と錯覚するくらい平易な文で、スラスラ読めました。(高校時代に英検2級とった頃が英語力ピークの人間でも)日本語訳を読んだあとだと、このシンプルな文章からあの訳にたどり着いた翻訳家さんのすごさもわかります。がまくんとかえるくんシリーズの他の作品も購入検討中です。

Japanese elementary curriculum includes The Letter (お手紙) as a story in the Grade 2 Language Arts textbook. It's a classic story that has been around a long time, and one of the stories in this early chapter book. It was great to have my bilingual son read this story in English after being introduced to it in Japanese. The story itself is great, and there are a plethora of additional language arts activities to be added to it, including writing letters to friends or Santa Claus, as it is usually a second semester activity.

単語を覚えて英会話がある程度できる小学生をお持ちのお母さん方が困られるのが、その次に来る教科書選びではないでしょうか。絵本を読まそうと思っても、ちゃんと主語、動詞の順に並んでくれている本は少ないのですが、このシリーズは内容もほのぼのとしているし、文法を教える教科書としてもよさそうです。

My 7.5 year old child (with some knowledge of English) likes the stories a lot.It is a good book for kids who are learning English as a secondary language.The language is simple and repetitive. And the stories are cute and funny.

just brilliant. no child should have to live without frog and toad in a childhood. we love the soft pages and the great art work . these books are becoming an integral part of our bedtime routine now combined with the two correlating teddies . simply wonderful.

What a beautiful book about friendship! Loved the simplicity of words yet the powerful message. Really a great book for my 5 year old to read for herself
