Where are these made? How comfortable are they?

Hello Conrad!~ I consider these to be among some of my most comfortable headphones. Less vise-like than the Sennheiser's and less bulky than HiFiMan.. The only cans I own that are more comfy are some nice Beyerdynamic DT-990's that are so light and comfy I sometimes forget I am wearing them. Honestly, you can't go wrong with these Shure cans. They are very detailed and extremely pleasing to the ear.As is common these days, these are made in the PRC.... (my Sennheiser's were made in Ireland and my Beyerdynamic's were made in Germany)Cheers! Marty G

Do these headphones need an amp? If so what is a good amp to use

First and foremost these are meant for professional use in a studio. For that application it's dry, neutral, bass light nature works well. For just casual listening not so much. For that I highly recommend the fostex th-600, Audeze lcd-2, or if you are into neutral hifiman he-500. If you are going to using these in a professional aspect let me know and I will think about an amp that matches up well with it. I can also be found at head-fi.org under the handle jibzilla.
