Snails cross it no problem, see picture
EDIT: despite the acrobatics I saw some snails partaking in to avoid crossing the copper, I have unfortunate evidence to show that it doesn’t work 100% of the time.My leaves are definitely getting eaten, perhaps it just took 1 to be brave.————————— Old review —————I was about to leave a 1 star review as I just found 3 snails on my plant. But upon further inspection, it turned out they had crafted a bridge by climbing up a nearby stalk, and then their weight caused it to bend over and allow them to bypass the meshing entirely. I'm lucky I walked past and caught them in the act. I am in awe that snails have the mental capacity for trigonometry. It's also possible that birds can unhelpfully airdrop the snails in, because to eat a snail, they fly up high and then drop them to shatter the shells. But if they get distracted / lost / spooked in the process, the snail is abandoned and left to roam free.So although pretty ugly, and despite all the reviews claiming it doesn't work, this stuff might actually get the job done. I've seen youtube videos of tests with live snails and timelapses, where they do actually cross over it, but what they don't explain in the videos is that the slugs and snails are trapped INSIDE the mesh and are out in the open. If they don't escape, they could get eaten so they take a risk and try to cross it (but are obviously uncomfortable doing so).Whereas if they're on the outside, they are unlikely to risk crossing it to get IN and will eat from my neighbours garden instead which has no protection. If this doesn't work, the next thing I'm trying is dried brambles, I've heard they're pretty effective.

Perfect
Exactly as expected. Arrived on time. Just the ticket.

A bit flimsy
This is a bit flimsy and difficult to fix around a herb or veg.

So far so good
This is the second roll I have purchased, after the slugs/snails had a banquet on my first lot of runner beans & lettuces I tried this & have not been bothered by them so far, I have now put this all round my raised vegetable bed as well & haven't seen any shiny trails so I think it works.
