Great product. As advertised.

I had heard so many people saying this was the best foam for tool boxes and so. Now that I have used it and seen how well it works I agree!! This foam is awesome!! I used it for my power tool set I bought and as long as you cut it precisely to the size of your tools it is great! Note- Some people described that the foam wasn't peeling off like it should (one sheet from another) and its true. It doesn't peel very clean, leaves a lumpy surface. In my case it didn't matter much since I'm looking to protect my tools more than anything, but if you are looking for that perfectly smooth surface under your tools, it most likely won't be.

I love this stuff and it's great for people who are OCD about organizing their tools like me. You can cut the foam to the overall size of your drawer and then spend a good deal of time planning how to organize the tools prior to cutting out the pockets One thing I noticed having used the solid black stuff a lot is that while the black stuff separates fairly easily along the layers when using proper technique (start peeling the layer back and then get finger into that seam by wedging your fingers into it - DON'T just grab and pull up or it will tare out unevenly) this white product doesn't separate nearly as well and I had to go back through with a flat razor and shave it down flat. It's not the end of the world since once you're tools are in place you don't see the bottom of the pockets you've created, but it's much harder to make the bottom off the cutouts totally flat. Also, I haven't tried melting it as I've sometimes done with the black foam, but I'm guessing the white foam might get discolored since the white would show that more than black. When I say I melt it: I take a piece of copper pipe and heat it up with a torch and then plunge half of it into the foam to make finger pockets to aid in removing tools from the foam that don't have an easy way to get them out otherwise; use a similar technique using a smaller piece of metal to make perfect cylindrical pockets to organize driver bits and such. Anyway, I love kaizen foam - once you get the hang of it you can really dial in any project or tool box and it's pretty reasonably priced. The black stuff is easier to work with but this type IS a cool look with the black face and white cutouts. See photos of both solid black foam and this white/black foam.

Really happy with how this foam works to organize tools in my tool box. I have quite a few ratchets that were rolling around in my tool box when I opened the drawer. After watching a YouTube video on this foam I decided to bite the bullet. I purchased the recommended pattern pen and kaizen blade and these items combined resulted in the video you see. I'm very pleased with the results. There is a learning curve with digging out the foam after you cut the profile. I started with some easy rectangles (sockets) to get the hang of things. It's easiest to cut shallow and start with a single layer, then keep cutting deeper and deeper as needed. Later I did some 3D supports as you can see in the video as well.

Fits in a standard craftsman drawer. Must cut to your own drawer size with a insulation box cutting knife. Cuts easily to fit any toolbox drawer. Cuts like butter. You will not need to heat-cut to shape around your tools. Foam is thick and easy to work with.
