Smooth action. Well made.
Very nicely made bit of kit. Scissor action is very smooth - will see over time if it stays that way. May need a little grease but first impressions are very positive. As the knob is wound clockwise, the top and bottom are forced apart smoothly. The nature of a scissor design means that the spread is not linear - at the start, from minimum separation, there is more movement per turn of the knob than at the end. This is a good thing!! The effect is that it's quick to lift but there is very fine control at the extreme height. Just what I wanted to lift my router in my home-made router table.I mounted my lifter on a couple of blocks with pan-head screws overlapping the edges. Some mounting holes would have been better but this has done the trick for me.There are foam circles stuck to one surface (the bottom) as feet but otherwise, top and bottom are identical and the lifter can be mounted either way up (mine is feed-upwards in fact).

Smaller than it looks.
I purchased this to use under a router on a table to fine adjust the router bit height. I thought it would have been bigger, but as I can use metric and imperial measurements with ease, I probably confused myself a bit.It wouldn't lift the router against its internal plunge spring. I cured the problem by stripping the router down and cutting the spring and stretching it. It worked and it lifts the router through the table bed and I can lock the router off at what ever setting I wish. A larger jack would not have fit, so every thing worked out fine in the end. Its strong enough as long as only a vertical load is placed on it.

A tiny little jack lift for, erm, stuff.
Bought this for my mini CNC machine which I can optionally fit a laser to. The laser module I have has a fixed focus, so the laser much be positioned at a specific distance from the piece to be cut or marked. This little lift can be clamped to the bed, the piece attached (or placed on it) and then the height adjusted so that the laser is the correct distance from the part. It's reasonably well made, time will tell, but I'm happy enough for what I paid.

A bit light weight for my porpoise
Used as a router lifter ,Found the mechanism is not strong enough to lift my router ( does have a strong spring )But will hold and lower fine ,

Get the right Heavy Duty Scissor Jack to do the Whole Job Easily!
Beautifully made & finished. But much to small & light for the purpose that I needed it for!Returned it to Amazon & immediately bought a really nice, much more Heavy Duty Scissor Lift Jack, needed to gently raise each corner of a Heavy Double Bed. Raised all four corners in turn to independently place the 4x 4inch Spacers underneath each of the 4x feet on the bed. “Et Voila”! A much needed space to slide my New Linear Foldable Treadmill in, to safely store it completely under the Bed!The ultimate space saving solution & the Treadmill can easily be slid back out on its wheels for each Walking Workout when needed! MUCH BETTER THAN WALKING OUTSIDE IN THE COLD FREEZING RAIN!!!

Just the job
Bought this to use as a height adjuster for my router/router table (cheap Work Zone model.) I could see the potential but was unable to turn the star knob because of clearance, size and the excessive force needed to turn the knob. The knob is a left hand thread which didn't help.I found these turnbuckles (TURNBUCKLE WIRE STRAINER TENSIONER HOOK - EYE BZP ZINC PLATED 6MM ( pack 3 )) going for £1.89 on Amazon, dismantled one and fitted it in place of the star knob. (Turnbuckles have a left and right hand thread on either end.)I then mounted the table onto 4 x 50mm blocks of wood which in turn were mounted on a piece of ply. The blocks give me clearance to fit the lab stand under the router and the extended 'knob' makes turning the raising screw a doddle. Now I can adjust the router to the mm.

Good Buy
Overall i am very happy with this purchase, item exactly as expected although could have done with it being a bit heavier/sturdier. Not a deal breaker though and it still fits the purpose at a good price

I am very impressed by its price-performance ratio
I needed a little lab jack for a gamma spectrometer, so keep in mind that I won't lift and any heavy things with this tiny lab jack.I expected not much at this price and I am really positively surprised by what I got. It is not really high-quality but way better than I expected, it is quite sturdy, does not wobble (just a tiny bit), and it is well made. :-)It really is a great companion for the gamma spectrometer to lift probes to a certain height under the scintillator.
