Can this be used to hide/fill the grain on oak cabinets before painting?

Absolutely. I'm a furniture maker, and I've used it to achieve mirror-smooth finish on open grain woods like red oak and swamp ash. This has become a go-to product in my shop for repairing dings, filling holes/imperfections, etc. Be aware that deep grain woods will require more than one application to fully hide the grain. However, the cure time is so quick, it's not really a problem. There are also a number of YouTube videos available with demonstrations and tips for this product. Many on the company's website.

Is this product water resistant?

Yes, it's a resin. But depending on the application, you'll most likely apply a finish over it.

Can I apply Solarez grain sealer over paint?

This product is only intended to be used as a base coat to fill and seal grain pores before applying finishes such as lacquer or paint.

What's the difference between this and the regular uv solarez sealer? the description for each product is the same but regular costs about 40% less
