Excellent shoes! Give Saucony a try if you haven't already :-)
These shoes fit excellent for me, and I was very surprised at the quality of these shoes. I haven't tried them out on a trail yet but these are more comfortable than my underarmour shoes, and I've sworn by underarmour for the past 4 years. I've worn these shoes off and on for about two weeks. I'll update the review after my first trail run, but so far here are the pros and cons:Pro:-These shoes fit true to size for me, not overly roomy and not too tight either.-The insole is very soft, similar to the memory foam to underarmour shoes.-The toe box is roomy without being TOO roomy, shouldn't have to worry about slipping. For those of us with flatter arches/slightly wider feet this is a huge plus!!-The tread is very aggressive, and looks like it will last.-The mesh overlying the toe box has cross-stitching that looks similar to rip stop. Should help with durability and the overall life of the shoe.-The shoe is very breathable, and light, for those who will be training every day and often.-Pricing--these shoes are very reasonably priced, especially on Amazon.Con:-Since the tread is so aggressive I wouldn't necessarily recommend for everyday wear, although they are comfortable enough to wear everyday.-If you aren't used to Merrell shoes, or the underarmour shoes that have foam sock liners, you may find slight discomfort with the cushioning across the top portion of the toe box. For me they are comfortable, but I have some concerns with friction causing blister concerns on longer distance runs.Overall I am extremely impressed with these shoes. Some of the other styles are very, very reasonable priced (30-40$) on Amazon. I will update this review as soon as I get some more miles on them and a trail run or two. Hope this helps, and I would definitely give Saucony a try!!

Great shoe, great price (when I got them!)
These shoes are great. I actually went to the store to try them on, but didn't like the pricing, or the drama I was listening to behind the counter. I added these to my cart and saved them for later. The next day, the price dropped (thirty six dollars) and I jumped. I've only had these for a couple of weeks, and they are the first Sauconys I've had, but my feet feel like they are on clouds - we'll see how long that lasts! They aren't the best quality shoes, and that's why they don't get a 5-star rating, but for what I paid, I'm extremely happy so far. If I could get a waterproof set like this, I'd be even happier!I normally wear a 10.5 in New Balance. These fit perfectly in a 10.5. I did try on other 10.5 at the store, and they did not fit the same. I would need an 11 in many other styles in this brand (and others, like Adidas).

Got 1/2 size bigger and glad I did....GREAT SHOES!
My comment on size actually means I wear an 11, but got 11.5 and glad I did. So the shoe itself fits small, so get a half size bigger. Great toebox room, I can feel the spring in the shoe as it strikes the ground, and the durability has been great over the last 5 months. The outsole rubber is really durable showing minimal wear on mixed concrete, asphalt, dirt and grass running over 5-6 miles per run. I'm a 200 lb + runner and these shoes have been a great ride-- supportive, resilient, great fit, and light -- all for 40 bucks! Can't go wrong with this Saucony model, the TR8 Trail Runner. Great shoe, great price, good looking too. Pat L.

For Wide Foot Trail Runners
I was looking for a wide trail shoe to replace my new balance. (1) Outsole is deep and aggressive but spaced widely enough that rocks don't get stuck in it. It has lateral projections from the forefoot and heel that allow extra grip in large rock and sidewalls. The sole leans more toward flexible than stiff, so if you like a really stiff sole these are prolly not for you. (2) The heel cup is deep and stiff with great lockdown. (3) The insole is soft and very comfortable. It's not glued in but has not moved while worn. It's comfortable all day, which was surprising. Maybe too soft for competition trail runners. Durability may be an issue but that's to be seen. (4) Laces are flat nylon ribbon with plenty of length. (5) They dry fast.I've taken these through flat but very muddy terrain, grass, water, mountain downhills, single track pebble trail, sandstone boulders, stairs, and just walking around at work. No slip... not once. No blisters, aches or problems. I would recommend this for any wide foot, novice to moderate trail runner.

Great shoes, I had to ding points for the toe coming lose the first hike I took in them--I'm a minimalist hiker with healthy ankles, and subscribe to the lighter-is-better kind of thinking. I also like to have a feeling for the ground under foot, which boots don't allow for.

Great Trail Shoes!!!
I bought these a half size bigger than I normally would as I expected them to run small. The sizing is pretty accurate however, so they are a little more roomy than I'd like. That being said, I just wore then for a 6 hour trail run/hike through every type of terrain and I'm pleased to say they were great. Good traction, very comfortable even after almost 8 hours non-stop wearing. The thread is not as aggressive as some high end brands, but these are great if you're on multiple types of terrain. They also drain fairly well after river crossings. I highly recommend them.
