Behind Closed Doors

Amazing read!
Although the plot has hints of a lot of other books involving domestic violence, the treatment here is very different. The climax is even more delightful.

Nice
Good novel. Take off is slow and dull but after few more pages you will be gripped and hooked. It's not a whodunnit but despite that it's a good thriller.

It was entertaining but not really satisfying.
Jack and Grace seemed to be the perfect couple, who had it all. Jack was a handsome looking, wealthy, loving husband. Grace, a charming, elegant, consummate housewife. 'You might not want to like them, but you do. You'd like to get to know Grace better. But it's difficult. Because you realise they are never apart. Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or can't meet for lunch without Jack. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.' So, the story actually gives up its secret almost immediately. But it's the action that keeps you hooked rather than the suspense. I literally finished the book in about two days. So, unputdownable? - Indeed. But was it chilling and scary? - No, Not that much. I mean it was indeed creepy but it could have been creepier and did not fill me with horrific terror. This could be because of the shallow writing. I felt that the story lacked depth. After a relatively promising start that plot-line became very repetitive. Plus the supporting/secondary characters hardly had any role in the story. And after a while due to the lack of their character development, their presence felt such a waste. All in all the story kept me entertained and was a total page turner but I was not satisfied with it at the end. So a 3.5 star it is.

Brilliant
I literally had trouble keeping the book down to sleep. Itβs so well written & fast paced, keeps you gripped throughout. One of the best books Iβve read in a long time

Unputdownable!
This is one shocking novel! The story is told in two time zones... the past and the present. You initially feel theirs is the perfect marriage, but you gradually start realising that that's not the case. And then when you know what the arrangement actually is, you are left shocked! Not spoiling the suspense, but this is one book you'd want to read in one go, coz as the story builds, you would be so eager to know if there is actually any way out for Grace!

A gripping thriller that will keep you on the edge of ur seat.
Oh my.. what a book... I'm so glad to have come across this one. I've been reading nonstop, every minute that I get, whether I'm standing in a crowded train or on tea break. The book was just that compelling. I loved the fact that the author has gone back and forth to help us understand the story better and also to keeps up the thrill. π... I can't wait for this author to bring us another amazing book. Loved it π

It is an incredibly nightmarish, raw, gut-wrenching, and unsettling read
This is a sick, twisted, and depraved little book with a villain of pure evil, yet it's impossible to put down. The author masterfully crafts a phenomenal, expertly plotted story of mental abuse taken to the extreme. With flawless pacing and splendid characterization, the true standout here is the sheer tension. "Behind Closed Doors" is an incredibly nightmarish, raw, gut-wrenching, and unsettling read that will take you on a wild emotional ride.

A bit confused with the narrative..
I had to reach 79% of the book to get the hang of the switching between present and past.. it's a good story, the ending is superb, but it requires an effort to reach the 79% mark...
