Poorly made product . Looks quite ok but it doesnt really work well . It does not wind up your automatic watch effectively . Also the design does not allow the watch to be properly “loaded” into the provided space . Im nkt going to return it as ive used if for a couple of days but its not worth buyin

Very good product. I make it a habit to order through using only Prime in this way you get a quality product alway. Well made product. Would have been better if it had a better quality cable to it.

Review of Time Tutelary Automatic Watch Winder
Quiet Operation; The watch works now perfect and no need to wear more hours for winding; Appearance is acceptable but not excellent, This may be due to the importance to operational performance.

Not satisfied.
This item does not work. I have a Tissot automatic watch and I left it on for 3 days, still no help. The watch moves less and takes longer breaks from movement.Unfortunately the item is not returnable. So I am stuck with it. Anyone else wishes to buy please contact me.

Does the Job........... cheaply and quietly (for 13 months anyway).
At £21 this winder fulfills it's purpose. Well packed and protected: delivered within 48 hours. There are no frills - it just gets on with it. If you want something that changes direction automatically you're probably going to have to dig a bit deeper into your pocket. Select the direction of winding via a three position switch (one position is off) and it just starts working. 1 hour on - 3 hours off. My biggest concern was how noisy it was going to be.Locate it next to your bed and yes, you'll hear it (just). On the other side of the room it'll likely not bother you - but I run it through the day and turn off at night anyway: just need to set it to rotate in the other direction the next morning. This keeps the watch I'm not using wound up and stops all the bad things that happen when mechanical watches get left in a drawer. The watch locates on a soft pull out cushion that then pushes back into the winder and holds the watch firmly. The clear plastic cover lifts the appearance a bit and keeps the dust out. The plug in power supply has a generous length of cable attached and terminates in a discrete connector that pushes into the unit.Other reviewers claim to have experienced poor reliability with this unit and at the time of writing I've only been using it for a couple of weeks, so am unable to comment on this aspect. If it does fail then the above counts for nought - but so far it's OK. If it packs in early I'll post a note.UPDATE 1: 13 months later.Good while it lasted, it now has to be unplugged and replugged to get it to work. Inconvenient but still functioning. Now it will only rotate one way: I suspect it's close to total failure and it's noticeably noisier, sounds like the plastic cogs churning round.Simple and effective when it was working. 5 star product with <1 star reliability.UPDATE 2: - January 2015: each time it's failed I've taken the base off (there's not much inside) and cleaned all of the contacts/joints with switch cleaner. Result is it springs back to life for a few months before resuming it's wayward behaviour so maybe a dry joint somewhere. So, still working, sort of......UPDATE 3 - September 2015: In the bin.

Hit and miss
Overpriced, these used to sell for £15! A very basic and cheap design although externally it looks quite good. It incorporates a tiny cheap motor which is expected to turn a relatively large weight so it is geared up using plastic/nylon cogs and a thin rubber drive belt. There is a lot of strain on this belt so it will eventually shred, although it is quite easy to replace. The motor will pack up before long though, it is gunged up with horrible thick grease like goose fat! Hit and miss how long it will last, I had one that lasted a year before the belts failed and the motor then lasted another year, but I also have one still going after 6 years, although it is not in constant use.It also fails on not being able to adjust the turning period and you can only adjust the direction of rotation manually, turning the watch in one direction only is not great (unless you remember to flick the direction switch every day) and the frequency of turns (1 hour on, 4 hours off) is not always sufficient for some watches.

Rubber band is the weakest link
Bought in 2011 the product lasted 5 years but broke due to a rubber band costing pennies - eventually your winder and probably any from Time Tutelary will give in due to the weakest link being a rubber band which will perish over time - why have a cheap rubber band as the drive mechanism? This item cost me £20 in 2011 now it is £30 in 2016, inflation isn't that high! I have asked the manufacturer for a replacement band but heard nothing. If you accept it will break after a few years then buy it. Mine is pretty scratched all over especially the clear top. This unit is made of cheap plastic and really isn't a £30 item. At £20 it was a bit of a rip off. When it did work it did wind my Rolex Sub but my wife complained so much about the noise at night. I won't be getting another.

Flawed for many watches
You probably won't buy a watch winder unless you own several automatic watches and this may be a problem as this winder does not wind all automatics. It appears there are several problems - on a a new ETA movement with a ball bearing rotor the angle of the winder is too shallow to overcome the inertia of the watch rotor and the rotor just stays put. If you prop up the 'thin end' with a magazine or something it starts to work. I discovered this by putting a view back watch on backwards so I could see what was happening. This is only possible with a leather or rubber strap and then not easy. I can tell you that my auto Miyota 9105 movement watch, made by Citizen and becoming very popular with the restriction of ETA movements outside of SWATCH, will not wind on this winder, whatever I do. Another problem for metal band watches - propping the winder up to get a steeper angle may make the watch insecure on the cushion because you cannot tighten a metal band further without removing links. I'm keeping it because it WILL wind my Hamilton 2834-2 with leather band. Cannot recommend.

We mourn its passing after 4 long years
I bought this for my husband on a whim about 4 years ago & it's just stopped working. For the price, and compared to others out there, I'm not unhappy with the lifespan. I learned when shopping for a winder that there were (at the time) very cheap and outrageously, nose-bleedingly, expensive winders; and virtually nothing in-between. (The situation seems to have improved slightly in the last few years.) My husband had a new watch that required a winder but at that moment, I couldn't see my way to spending a fortune on something that wouldn't be seen much, anyway. This was perfect! It can be set to rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise & to start & stop periodically. No messing about. It isn't silent but even on his bedside table, my husband has never been bothered by the sound, a soft hum at worst. It isn't our taste and had the cord been longer we would have stored it in the closet but for the money, I can highly recommend it. I gave it 4 stars only because it isn't mother's loveliest & doesn't switch directions automatically.
