I loved mine so much I bought another set of the 1 cup as a gift for someone who lives alone. She was telling us that when she cooks a large batch of something she has to either eat it for long periods of time or freeze it but has to freeze in a big bowl. I knew these Souper Cubes would be perfect for her! My favorite thing so far to use them for is pre-cooking a large batch of rice and freezing it in smaller portions. Rice may not take a very long time to cook but having some ready and frozen in individual portions makes it convenient for this busy mom. I can vacuum seal them in small bags and the kids can grab one themselvesor I can take a few out for the family. Heating up food from smaller portions makes it thaw faster too! The 1 cup is a great size to get started. You don't have to fill them all the way and they have guide lines inside to show you the volume. I have tried both generic versions and the Souper Cubes official products. I actually prefer the Souper cubes. One of the generic copycat items arrived smelling strongly like plastic or chemicals. Souper Cubes smells like nothing. These are a stronger, thicker silicone that stand up easily on their own. Other brands are thinner and floppy. Souper Cubes came with a hard plastic lid that is easy to stack on. The cheaper ones have a silicone lid that flexes when you stack on top. Souper Cubes also come with some kind of metal frame inside the rim that helps them hold their shape and not flex when filled. You can bake in them but not microwave for this reason. You can not however bake with the lid on! Lid is not oven safe. They wash up very easily too. They cost more than the generic copies but I believe they are worth the investment not just for the convenience but the quality.

This is the best kitchen gadget I have found in a long time! I like to cook soups, chilis, Indian dishes etc that often produce a large number of servings. Since I am usually just cooking for myself, I always struggle with having to freeze half of whatever I am making, but then not wanting to have it for several days in a row when pulling it out of the freezer. These are the perfect solution. The cubes are the perfect size for one serving at a time, so you can just pull out whatever you're in the mood for. When you're ready to use, you just push out a frozen serving into a dish and heat it up. The portions slide out easily, similar to a large ice cube. The base is durable and doesn't collapse when full or when you are pushing on the lid. That said, it is rubber and has some flex to it, so you need to be somewhat careful when filling and moving it around, but I've not had an issue with any spilling. I have two of them, and they stack nicely on top of each other in the freezer. Overall, I can't recommend these enough. I wish I had found these years ago!

I now own 6 of these containers and they're excellent! They've quickly become an essential in the kitchen. I only wish I'd thought of this idea! They are especially good for storing soups and leftovers. Made of silicon, the contents can be easily removed - run the cube under warm water to loosen and press the bottom to release. If you choose not to fill them to the top, (to the 1 cup portion), there are markings inside the cubes for smaller quantities. These containers stack perfectly and when labeled, your foods are found without any problem. When we run out of cubes to use, we empty one and put the contents into a labeled Ziploc bag, then simply put the cube in the dishwasher. They clean up perfectly. The souper cubes would make an ideal gift for anyone who loves to cook, and I know we'll be ordering more.

I tend to make huge pots of soup, which always gives us more leftovers than we can get through. These cubes have helped us deal with those leftovers so much! You ladle the soup into the cubes, put the lid on, pop them into the freezer! Easy peasy! The units are sturdy, and stackable, so you don’t feel like you are about to dump soup when moving them from the counter to the freezer. Once frozen, I pop the soup cubes out of the tray and put the cube of soup into a ziploc for future meals. The first time I popped the frozen cubes out, I was concerned that I was going to damage the container, but they are so durable and flexible! The soup popped right out and the container went right back to its original shape. I do love how they stack in the freezer, how they provide the perfect serving size of soup, and easily the clean-up (just pop in the dishwasher!), and how little food waste we now have thanks to these things!!
