No. Skim through the Seiko and Citizen watches sold on Amazon. You will notice that some newly released Seiko quartz models are solar-charged, while others are conventional battery powered. Citizen watches are still predominantly Eco-Drive, i.e. solar powered.

Q: To those wondering...and some of you answering completely wrong including amazon...the diameter should be 28.4mm not 40mm which is insane?

Obviously the case is rectangular. I measure 27 mm wide by about 37 mm long lug-to-lug. It feels larger than I was expecting for my medium-sized wrist but not too large, although it might seem large for a small wrist depending the wearer's preference.
