Independent India: Before and After (Box

Bought during the Lightning Deal for ₹499 which is better than buying individually as you get this in a box. The box looks classy with a linen looking finishing similar to the book. My book bookcase had a small dent in it but the books themselves are intact. The books sit little loose which helps durinh removal of book, hence the box won't tear unlike the other sets I have purchased before.Obviously the book doesn't cover every aspect of before and after Independence of India but nonetheless gives a good comprehensive idea of several key instances. The language is good and easy to understand. A must read for every Indian and makes a great set for gifting.

Books are original and in Awesome condition!Delivery was very late it took around 12 days!

Penguin printing done a fantastic job with the quality of the product but the contents inside has alot of grammatical errors and the narrative could be more accurate or lucid. Sentence formations could be improved. Content editor didn’t do a great job with the books. If you’ve brought this for upsc prep… go with spectrum. It’s more to the point and the narrative is lucid.

It is the most important and benefitting book upsc aspirantsAlso I received both the books in a package at just 475 which is much less than the actual value of the productMoreover the packaging was neat and an additional cover is provided which will protect the book from getting dusty

Amazing books..got in 495 only. If you want to develop your wide perspective of Modern Indian History, you should definitely go for it. Bipin Chandra has nicely incorporated all the events, with both INC and MUSLIM LEAGUE view. Its approach is different from all the modern history books which I have read yet.The specific focus has been given on the condition of peasants, workers, traders, women , Muslim ..etc. in national movement, with the socio-economic development and political participation of masses.Best for prelims and specially mains (UPSC- CSE, CDS,NDA, ..etc ).Apirants of civil services should buy it,it will enrich their thinking and help in developing a individual point of view. Spectrum is good but you should inculcate this in yr booklist if you are upsc aspirant.

May be they have thrown the boxset multiple times that's why box is teared. Book is worth for study but packaging is like its a garbage going ro recycling.
