A well written reference book concerning what we need to include in the daily food.
I bought this book 3 years ago but first now during the past days have had time to read it continuing from start to finish, and during this have found that it's excellent book to use as a lexica. In the title I use the words "reference book" as I have found it being better, and easier, to go searching in than in Google. For example if wanting to know from where we are getting the Vitamin A in what we are eating, then we by the writing about Vitamin A, in a frame "Food Source of Vitamin A", are finding 54 foods sorted progressively, starting by the number 1, for having most of this Vitamin. And then in the chapter about the Minerals we in the frames are getting the amount in milligrams for each 100 grams, for example in "Food Sources of Magnesium", from 760 in Kelp to 64 numbers later, the 8 milligram in 100 grams of Apple. And it's good with the separate chapters concerning respectively Vitamins, Minerals, Acids and Herbs, in which we concerning each of the objects mentioned in these chapters, we besides the frames mentioned above, also are getting many details about for what they actual are needed, or just help, symptoms telling us about deficiency, the possibility for having deficiency, how big a dosage to get, and so on.We have 36 sides concerning Herbs, and concerning Herbs there exist so enormous many so we always in books find the existence of some more. But concerning the Herbs, for example in this book, it's also interesting on the whole of the side 166, to read the story about a dangerous Herb, that is the "Ephedra: A Potentially Dangerous Herb".And even though I during many years have been reading many books concerning what to eat, what the body needs, and so on, I still learned more by reading this book. For example about the Fatty Acids we always learn, as written on side 107, that we also are having the "bad" Fat, the Trans Fatty Acid (TFA), invented by man. But especially on the side 114 we then read that actually the TFA also exist in the nature. For me this is the first time to read this. And then besides, we also, on this side, are reading about an actual TFA from the nature, the Conjugated Linoleic Acid, which opposite to the by man manufactured Fatty Acids, among other is believed to fight Breast and Colon Cancer! Very interesting learning.Part 2 in the book "Health Conditions" covers 130 sides and having writings which is good for private persons, compared to for example the Mosby's Dictionary, as we here are getting more writing in each case, and besides we in each case also are getting tables with supplements to treat it.The only thing which I found to be missing in this book is that on the sides 263-264 we have the "Estrogen-related Problems", but here we don't learn about the different parts, types, of Estrogens. That is the Estrone (E1), Estradiol (E2), and Estriol (E3). And in a short writing, for which the two first mentioned helps Breast Cancer, and the last one fights Breast Cancer. So it's important besides having a balance between Estrogen and Progesterone also to have a balance between the parts in Estrogen. But all together a very good book which I without doubt in the future many times will be using as a lexica concerning Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs, and Health Conditions, after that I now have been using a speed marker in it.

A GOOD RESOURCE
If you're trying to keep up with the current trends in "health" it's difficult to figure out which vitamins, minerals, herbs to include in your diet. Although this guide isn't infallible it is a good start. Concise, and not too technical, it imparts much information.

Very inclusive book
This book is perfect for someone who wants to make sure they are eating the correct vitamins and minerals. It lists the vitamins, minerals, and amino acids essential for making proteins. It lists which foods you can find these in, and what the specified vitamin/mineral does for the body. It is a very good reference book and I highly recommend it, especially for the beginner or for someone who has been wanting to eat a more healthy, complete diet, and they just don't know where to start. Although it does not include everything, it is a book that I will always turn to for a quick and easy reference. I think that everyone who is interested in improving the quality of their diet should consider gettig this book. It is laid out very straight forward, very well organized, very informative. Five Stars.
