Glue takes time to dry….

My living room has a few kid-made cardboard projects that never stay together, so I bought this to fix a foam-and-cardboard display before it went back on the shelf. I sprayed a light coat on the pieces, waited a bit, then pressed them together. It grabbed well, and I could shift one edge into place before it set. The clear finish kept the front looking tidy, which helped. I used it during a Sunday cleanup while my son was sorting his drawings. The one annoyance is the spray spreads wider than I expected, so I had to lay down newspaper and open a window. I found the can easy to use, just plan for the overspray.

The pros: This Gorilla Glue spray adhesive it was purchased at a fair price. I used this spray to attach closed cell foam to the interior of my garage door. The closed foam was cut into panels to fit the garage door sections. The product was easy to apply but sometimes difficult to manipulate if the initial location was incorrect--the glue did not tear any of the panels if they had to be relocated. The hurricane supports made this extra challenging to tuck the panels under before adhering them to the door. However I was able to complete the job in a good way and that was great. The con: Over time however (5 months), the insulation has pulled away from the door which means that the adhesive has seemed to have failed. My guess is due to the heat from the sun beating against the metal garage door, but that is not confirmed. Conclusion: This product probably works great in the right environment--it does not seem OK for the job I had. That being said, there is no info about how these adhesives perform in adverse temperature conditions. The job was done in the spring of this year and the temps were mild.

I used a light coat and put down some scrap paper first, since spray adhesive can travel farther than you expect. I also opened a window and let the board dry away from my usual lounging spot. The can is easy enough to handle, though I’d keep it upright and follow the label directions. The photos stayed in place, and I didn’t see any yellowing during the time I’ve had them up. I haven’t tried every material listed, but it’s been handy for this small paper-and-cardboard project. Now I have a calm little corner to look at when I get in from a long shift, which is exactly what I wanted.
