Sad little piece of plastic.
The seller (Photo Vatika) did a good job of packing and promptly despatching the Hood. The one star I am giving is just because of them otherwise this product deserves a ZERO.However, I don't see any good reason to pay Rs 599 for this. It broke within 1 hour of receipt. The plastic is flimsier than a paper cup. The design is poor, The locking mechanism doesn't work smoothly. It was a pain to attach and remove during its short lifetime. I was scared that this would damage the lens body. In a way I am glad this broke. I went down to my local photo shop and picked up a slightly better hood for less than Rs 150. Even this is high considering how flimsy these things are but better than paying Rs 599.Not at all recommended. In way I am glad it broke quick else it would surely have damaged my lens. If you really need a hood then get the original NIkon, which is very expensive, or get one in a brick and mortar shop which will be considerably less expensive.

Affordable & Does the Job but and will break anytime!!
If you are looking for a cheap and affordable lens hood then this should work for you (I'd say brick and mortar you will get it cheaper). The built quality is below average, very thin plastic but matches with the original Nikon body. Secondly I bought this because of its bayonet mounting system and not the screw system.

Good product
Good product. I liked it. Shadow will come if use flash at 18mm. But good if you use outside without flash. I dont know about others, i am satisfied. Since it is bionet type, eady to remove or put. Gives good looks to ur camera as well

Highly Disappointed...Lens hood NOT AT ALL fitting over the lens.
Well, what purpose can a lens hood possibly serve if it does not fit over the lens for which it is intended...and believe me it DOES NOT FIT over Nikkor 18-55 mm VR lens at all. I ordered this item for our upcoming trip to mountainous areas...and I was totally relying on Amazon as for as the product description is concerned...and ordered this one despite some earlier negative reviews. But now I think I will have to more cautiously read the earlier reviews...even more cautiously the negative ones. I am returning this item to Amazon with high disappointment. Now I will get a lens hood from the local market itself.
