Q: Why does this say (light) in the item description?

The cat is a light shade (there also is almost a black cat - 'dark')

Q: can this be painted a different color?

I suppose if you wanted to paint it in a different color, you could. I think the paint would stay on it. Not really sure as I haven't tried to paint mine.

Q: Could this be used outside as a memorial on a headstone, or would it weather away?

It's very tiny ... just so you know, maybe 3inches tall. But I would assume the paint is NOT weather proof. Sun, rain or snow .... I don't think so, unless you have plans to put it under a glass dome of sorts ... I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe their website has an area where you can ask questions. And I'm so very sorry for your loss..

I purchased this to place next to the ashes of my dog. I’ve never found my cat :( .. it’s a beautiful, good quality and sweet memorial item. Anyone would love this. Can have on display and small enough to even have in your pocket or purse.. lovely for remembering a lost pet

Much smaller than expected

The statue looks just like what I ordered, but it’s much smaller than I thought it would be. Maybe that’s my fault for not looking at the measurements, but it definitely looks larger in the pictures. It’s a cute statue.
