Grateful to Have Come Upon This Book
I am grateful that I have come across The Book of Ceremony. It is essentially a resource which honors the interconnectedness of the earth. Modern humanity often experiences a disconnection from the spiritual existence of the natural world. The ceremonies seek to revive the sacredness of the earth as well as restore the human spirit. The ceremonies which are discussed use burning or the offering of sacred herbs; drumming, rattling and dancing are used to invoke an altered state. One might proceed by offering a blessing, or by seeking a releasement; one might have the intention of healing. If a land should be blighted, there are means by which it may revive or be restored. First, a ceremonial blessing should take place. Statues, stones as well as cairns may be placed, restoring sacred resources. Honoring ceremonies, including honoring the earth, might revive the spirit. Through inner journeying the shaman may travel anywhere on earth. Throughout this inner journeying, she encounters her altar within, and is capable of meeting with others on this ethereal plane. Thoughts are thought of as things which manifest reality.

Sandra’s New Book Is Ceremonially Inspiring
Sandra inspires me as a Transformational Intuitive that guides people to find their True Selves. She reminds me to exonerate the practice of rituals and ceremonies and add them more frequently to my own Life and that of others. We all need to solidify our Lives in order to balance how our planet’s negative energies can devour and destroy our Love of the Good.

Self help the easy way
Sandra's book is excellent. It appeals not just to shamanism, but to all beliefs. Some ceremonies are complex, some are always available, most are very simple yet powerful. If you with to memorialize a pet, or an annual plant, or temper the anger of a neighbor, there's a ceremony in Sandra's book you can use. She creates the basic framework and you can improvise form there. On the other hand Sandra chronicles complete ceremonies for so many of life's event. Heartily recommend it.Polomo, Mt Shasta

Best shaman book I have read
I am starting out in shamanism and quickly learned that Sandra Ingerman is the guru teacher to follow on this topic and this book did not disappoint. So many gems in here, that after I listened to the audible (good narration), I had to get the book in my hand as a resource because there were so many things I wanted to reference.

Excellent Reference for Creating Ceremonies
In The Book of Ceremony, Sandra Ingerman opens up her 30-year ceremony playbook and shares her learning curve, her awe and abiding respect for the natural world, and a call to action for the reader--"step into a creative power you might never have imagined."If you are familiar with Ingerman's earlier books, you'll see the golden thread that runs through all transformative work--intention creates action. And action is what I found most valuable in The Book of Ceremony. Ingerman provides the frame for creating personal and community ceremonies without being officious about it.She gives the reader plenty of imaginative room to create ceremonies that are powerful, inspiring, and fun. This book sits on my reference shelf for planning workshops.

An inspired work for marking rites of passage
I have just finished Sandra Ingerman's luminous new book, THE BOOK OF CEREMONY. If, like me, you think ceremonies and rituals have been watered down or forgotten altogether in today's society, this is the book for you. I have read a few of Sandra's other titles -- they're all wonderful, but I don't think anything has touched my heart as deeply as this one. Here you will learn ceremonies for significant life milestones: birth, death, beginning and ending relationships, and dozens of other rites of passage. I have adapted one such practice already and have found another that is perfect for my cohousing community. THE BOOK OF CEREMONY gets my highest recommendation.Burt Kempner, author of The Five Fierce Tigers of Rosa Martinez

A wonderful support for bringing ritual into your life
I found this book comforting. At times when I wish to mark an event with a ritual, I may be short on ideas that seem suitable. Sandra's book offers authentic yet reassuringly simple and genuine suggestions for honoring life's transition points and the shiftings of the natural world. Consulting the book feels like a way to become your own shaman or ceremonial leader as needed.
