Oversensitive button
This device does what it is supposed to do, but mine appears to have a flaw. The button is extremely sensitive, meaning trying to press it once and have it not register multiple presses is very difficult. You have to carefully tap it to get it to move forward by one, and that is met by success only about half the time. One normal press might advance three settings all at once for instance.Otherwise it still works so it really was not worth the hassle of exchanging, but it's a flaw none the less.

Does what it says, but could be better.
This unit does what it says, but I don't like that the first button press is 'always-on' and requires multiple presses to get the time options, and you have to hope you got the correct one, and the button is buried. I bought a Belkin unit which I like more because the first button press gets you the pre-set time, and the button is easier, and there is a half-hour setting which is what I use.

OK, serves the purpose
Do far so good. I bought it because I have forgotten to unplug my Iron on multiple occasions. At least now I am assured that it will switch itself off , if I forget to.I only wish it weren't that long, it is bit of a pain to plug the iron in to the plug point.

Only get this if you want the added flexibility
I bought this (3001 multi-setting) to try to solve the old problem of the wife leaving the curling iron or cloths iron on problem. She often is circling back home, calling home or just worries all day if verification of turn off isn't confirmed. I also bought the 3002 which just has 1hour and off, I prefer the 3002 (single 1 hr setting) for the intended purpose. On the 3001 you have to hit the button several times to turn on and off. You have options "HOLD", "1 hr", "2 hrs", "4 hrs" and "8 hrs". So you have to keep pushing the button until it is at the duration you want and then if you want to turn it off prior to the time remaining you have to hit the button past all the settings that are after the setting you chose. I will use the 3001 for something like the Christmas tree or holiday decorations where you might want them on for 4 to 8 hours.

Worked for my Crockpot
I went through an extremely busy phase the last few months, and as a result, had been attempting to use my old crockpot so I could have dinner ready when I got home in order to avoid the drive thru. But since my crock pot is OLD, it doesn't have a timer... This auto-shut off device was purchased to ensure that the crockpot would turn itself off in case I didn't make it home exactly in time to turn off the food. The device is extremely simple; push the button until the light stops beside the number of hours at which you want the power outlet to shut off. It worked as described for me with my crockpot. What this item DOES NOT have, is a delay function to turn the outlet ON at a certain time delay. It's just ON until the time when the power shuts OFF.This worked for my needs and kept me from ordering a new crock pot just to get a timer function. :)

Rarely works
You may think it'll turn off at predetermined intervals of time, but you'd be thinking the wrong thought. All bets are off regardless which interval you choose. It'll turn off all right-- when it decides to (typically when you don't want it to) and will remain on drawing power after you decided it should stop operating. Used timer on phone to verify that it wasn't me using device incorrectly. Someone should be able to invent a device like this that works. Haven't found one yet.

Overall pleased.
I bought this product to safely turn off a lava lamp. The first one I ordered was defective. The company had their card in the packaging and I called told them what was wrong and they sent me a replacement. The replacement worked perfect. I would love to tweak this product. The times are not in a logical order. I would have the hold button on the bottom left, then 1 hour, then 2 hour on the left. When I click on the time I want the light to stay there not move down through the lower times as it is operating. Also, the next time I use it I don't want to have to find the right hour each time I use it. It does exactly what I bought it for and the company was quick to give me a replacement when the product was defective. Overall pleased.

Just what I was looking for.
I had a very old DVD player and it had a sleep timer on it. The DVD player died. I replaced it with a Blu-Ray player. The Blu-Ray player doesn't have a sleep timer on it. I can sync it to the TV but the Blu-Ray will shut off only if I push the off button on the TV. The Blu-Ray player won't shut off if I use the sleep time on the TV. The solution was this timer. I can set it for how long I want the Blu-Ray player to run and I set the TV's sleep timer to the same time and they both will shut off. Great solution. I like that it is a count down timer and not one that comes on at a set time and off at a set time like other timers.
