Countablock (An Abrams Block Book) Board book – Illustrated, August 5, 2014

Such great quality. Pages are thick and very hard to damage - perfect for kids who tend to be a little rough on books. My kiddos LOVED all of these books, so much so that I have bought several for gifts over the years as well. Very nice quality board books, and much bigger and more educational than most.

This book is clever and creative! It counts up to 100, with emphasis on 1-10, 20, 30, and so forth, with the intermediate numbers included in an concise but efficient manner, so as to not make the book 100 pages. Each number has a theme depicting a process, such as 6 balls of yarn... become 6 sweaters! Boxes become forts, kernels become popcorn, tadpoles become frogs, etc. The pages appear to be of sturdy material and the illustrations are bold and beautiful. I bought this for my niece and look forward to purchasing more for family and friends! I prefer children's books that are enjoyable for the adults too - this won't disappoint! I also purchased Alphablock, which is excellent as well, but if you have to choose, get this one.

These books are the best car books. Our car looks like a library because of all of these books. They are small and easy to turn pages for our boys in car seats. They read them everyday.

Counts through 1-10, like most numbers books, but what sets this one apart is that it marches on to 100 by 10s (10, 20, 30...90, 100). It is fun to track all of the different items used to count the growing numbers. One of the better counting and numbers books for toddlers.

These are my favorite books for my son. For this book I don’t love how long it is. It’s a lot for my son to absorb. I wish they had one that was less then 100. Maybe split it into a couple smaller books like 1-20, 20-50, 50-100. Nonetheless once he’s older it’ll be great. And theoretically I can just stop reading at 20. I just don’t love the layout of the 10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19.We have all but the Star Wars and marvel ones. Can’t wait for the Barn addition to come out!The board isn’t super thick so I imagine as he gets older some fold out parts might be torn but the style of the book is adorable!

What a fun way to learn to count! This book is great for early learners and beyond. It begins with easy numbers and then moves up for more advanced children. As a Kindergarten teacher, I can appreciate the value to children understanding numbers, their patterns and groupings. THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!!!!

My son loves his Counta Block book so much we needed to replace it!! Makes a great gift too!!

This book, along with Alphablock, are beautiful and fun. I especially love how each thing being counted BECOMES something else of the same number. The only thing holding me back from giving it 5 stars is that I bought this book new as a gift, and it arrived to me with something that looked like a squished bug or a drip of food stuck to one of the pages. When I cleaned it off, it left a residue. Sending it back is too much of a hassle, so I'm giving that copy to my son and ordering a second one, which I WILL send back if it arrives with anything stuck to the pages. If you buy this book, check through all the pages before giving it as a gift.
