Norwegian Tutor: Grammar and Vocabulary Workbook (Learn Norwegian with Teach Yourself): Advanced beginner to upper intermediate course Workbook Edition

I agree that the Norwegian Tutor is a little more difficult than the exercises in the TY Norwegian books, but that is because it is a rigorous grammar course. Over the years, the TY courses have become ever more simple, when compared with the earliest editions, until they are little more than extended phrase books. I am happy to see that there are still people at TY who take language learning seriously. If the shoe does not fit, that doesn't make the shoe defective. A one star rating is not fair to the authors who have worked hard bring something new to language learning.

Excellent! I agree with the previous reviewer, a one star ranking is extremely unfair. This is such an excellent workbook for Norwegian, and would be so even with no dearth of great Norwegian resources. I am so glad I bought this, it is a great supplement to my Norwegian language learning and will undoubtedly help to increase my skills.

This is for someone who has a firm background in the language. I have been a serious student in the Norwegian language for several years and this is too advanced for me. Good reference book.

As an ESL teacher for 30 years, I know what to look for in a grammar book, and this fits the bill. It’s very complete.

This is an excellent supplement if you're learning Norwegian on Duolingo. I'd also recommend The Mystery of Nils.

There has to be something to bridge the gap for those of us who are not quite beginners and not quite intermediate. This isn't it. Too advanced.

Once upon a time I was fluent in Norwegian but that was long, long ago. As a child I had to argue with people who didn’t believe I was an American as my accent was perfect. But even then my sentence structure wasn’t always correct and not having used the language in 40 years, I’ve forgotten far more than I remember. This book is fantastic, and I’m both relearning the language (this time using proper sentence structure!) as well as dramatically expanding my vocabulary. Whether you already know some Norwegian or learning it on your own (I’m using Duolingo), this book is an invaluable asset.
