If you want to do like I did
I am still in the beginning of this book, but I am learning a lot from it. A word of caution, if you buy this stand alone, you will not get the answers to the questions, but that is exactly what I did, and I do not mind, I am still learning a lot. The labs appear to use virtual machines a lot, but I am just booting whatever OS I need from a thumb drive for Kali Linux, and I have Windows Server 2008 installed on the server, yes, you will need to have Windows Server 2008, 2012, (Although you may be able to get by with just Windows Server 2008). You can download these as trial versions. If you want to do like I did, (boot from a USB flash drive), I would recommend [...]. Another bit of good info . . . I picked up two HP Proliant Servers, off of Craigslist for $50 each, then $15 apiece for the hard drives. Dual processor, dual quad Xeons. When companies update their systems, you get deals like this. You cannot use Packet Tracer for these labs, sorry. I would buy the whole set of these books if they were a little less expensive.

Used this for Intro to Net Sec and I loved it. I read the whole book from cover to cover. It had a lot of great info for me to do well in the class.

this is absolutely useless to me
Searched for Guide to Network Security Fundamentals, 5th and didn't carefully read title, did not realize I only rented the manual and not the actual test book, this is absolutely useless to me. Though it is my fault for not double checking there was no "lab manual" in my search.
