Pure Silk Eye Patch For Adults, Amblyopia Obscure Astigmatism Training Strabismus Correction Black

I'm recovering from eye surgery and want to keep that eye covered and dark during the day, otherwise I need to close it to block out the light, which makes me squint. This soft eye patch is working very well for me so far. PROS: The adjustable strap means I can keep it just tight enough to stay put, not so tight as to irritate my skin. The very soft material allows me to open and close the eye comfortably even though the patch does touch my eyelid a little. The flat surface means I can wear it comfortably with glasses. CONS: If your eye is very sensitive, even a little touch to the eyelid or eyelash may be uncomfortable. Pro-Tips: (1) Loosen the adjustable strap as much as you can to reduce tension across the eye. (2) Make sure you don't put the patch on upside down -- the straps are closer to the "top". (3) Put the adjustable side of the strap on the side closest to your ear. The patch is reversible, so flip it around as needed. I had first tried a drugstore "concave" eye patch which was ok for a few hours at a time. But the elastic band was very tight -- the elastic and the edges of the patch irritated my skin. Also the "concave" patch is conical in shape and won't fit under glasses. Not only that, but the conical shape looks weird. This silk patch looks much better.

I bought this patch for myself. I am an adult with strabismus, which is a lazy eye. I strongly dislike any patch, because I just hate not being able to see and looking like a pirate. But as far as patches go, this one isn’t bad. Pros: thin, less noticeable strap Super soft fabric Non-Velcro strap that can be adjusted easily You can wear it on the black side or the gold/skin side The price is great. I like this one much better then the bulkier one I bought on amazon for more money. Cons The gold/skin side is a little too shiny for me, almost flashy. I’m going for a discreet look so that was a big no. You can’t make it really tight or it puts pressure on your eyeball, but too loose isn’t good either. It took some work to find the sweet spot, but I was able to, although it does slide down sometimes, it’s not perfect. A solid 3.5-4 stars for sure. I didn’t feel like it was as big as another reviewer said. It felt like a normal sized patch to me. In the picture hers looks much bigger than mine...maybe she got a size large or something.

The patch is used due to eye trauma which necessitated stitches in one eye and a loss of sight except for colors and larger shapes. I hope to have this corrected by surgery shortly. However, in the meantime I needed something that would cover the damaged eye as I can see much better with one good eye than I can from one good eye and one damaged eye, both giving input to my brain. Now to the patch. The best features are that it is flat, soft, and stays on my head fairly well. I also have a cone shaped patch, which holds my glasses away from my eye just enough that it messes with my prescription. This patch is flat and soft, letting it set on my closed eye lid without pushing the eyelid onto the stitches. As it will be just over one month more before surgery, I plan to order another one as I sweat a lot and need to be able to wash one while wearing the other.

The material is just as advertised. So it feels comfortable and gentle on the face. However, I have amblyopia and I am covering my strong eye to give my weaker eye the opportunity to strengthen. The patch needs to be concave so that the strong eye can open, close and blink in unison with the weaker eye. I suggest reading Sight Without Glasses by Dr. Harold Peppard. He studied under Dr. Bates and has impressive insight on eye management.

So for me I bought these so I don't have to hold my hand over my eye when I'm out looking through my telescope. I will say for what I need it for works great! If you need to wear on all the time then I would find something better. This one isn't that comfortable it's either too tight across the middle or it's too loose. Fine for short term not long term.

Cheaply made. The only good thing is the softness. The cord slips off constantly (wearing it as suggested even) and is very uncomfortable. When it slips on to your uncovered eyelid it’s a bit painful. Doesn’t matter if it’s tightened or loose. Don’t recommend. Keep looking!

Namely, the strap. The whole eye patch is very soft, and the patch itself would be very comfortable and nice to wear, but unfortunately the strap makes it uncomfortable. The strap was designed in such a way that it goes right into your eye-very uncomfortable! No matter how I try to position it or put it on, the strap keeps going right in my eye. I wear an eye patch when I get cluster attacks to try and help with vision issues, but the pressure from the strap is just too much for it to be of any use when I need it.

Soft and comfortable for extended wear. Stays in place overnight. Elastic band could be stronger, but overall effective for blocking light.”
